The Mazda brand is set for a revival as lo cal distributor Bermaz is flexing its muscle to ask the Japanese to make it the house hold name it used to be.
Their first step in making the Mazda name popular again is the local assembly of the stylish and popular Mazda3.

The car will be assembled at the Sime Darby assembly plant in Kulim where the Berjaya Group, parents of Bermaz, still has a significant shareholding.

According to Bermaz chief, Datuk Ben Yeoh, the Mazda 3 will be built on a dedi cated body line at the plant while paint and final assembly will be done on a shared line.

"We have trained personnel at the Ku lim plant to ensure quality assembly of the Mazda 3 and according to tests carried out during the pre-production stage, the number of faults that occurred in the car during assembly was far lower than ex pected.

"We have every confidence that the Mazda 3 coming out of Kulim will be of similar quality to the car coming from Japan. This will be ensured by the presence of trained super visors which include engineers from Japan."

Ben said that the local assembly pro gramme will allow the company to offer the Mazda 3 with improved specification levels but sell it at a price that is attractive to Ma laysian buyers.

"We cannot reveal the price just yet as it has yet to be finalised by the government but we can promise that it will be competitive and attractive," he added.

Bermaz is aiming to sell around 3,000 units of the Mazda 3 this year.

The company has spent around RM15 mil lion installing the dedicated bodyshop lines, including assembly jigs and special welding machine that is capable of handling the extra high-tensile strength steel that is used in the manufacturing of the Mazda 3.

Ben said that the model is expected to have a production run lasting roughly five years, which is the average life-span of a typi cal Japanese model.

He also said that the company will not limit itself to the Malaysian market or the Mazda 3, they are continuously assessing the pos sibility of making Malaysia the assembly hub for the South East Asian region.

If market conditions and demand for Mazda products improve, Ben said the company would certainly consider lo cally assembling other models.

When asked how much of the car is locally sourced, he said that 40 per cent of the value of components going into the vehicle is sourced from local suppli ers.

While the locally assembled Mazda 3 will find favours in the mass market, the high performance Mazda 3 MPS (Mazda Performance Series) will help to lift the brand beyond the ordinary.

The 2.3-litre turbocharged engine on the MPS has been rated at 235 horsepower and 380 Newton metres of torque, making it one of the most powerful five door hatchbacks in the country.

Coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and a torque-sensing lim ited-slip differential, the MPS promises to put a smile on the faces of everyone who drives it.

Even before the car has turned a wheel in anger, buyers would bask hap pily in the RM175,000 price tag, which makes it one of the best value-for-mon ey performance cars on the market.

Those who want to get an early glimpse of the locally assembled Mazda 3 and the MPS should make your way to the Mazda Motor Show at 1 Utama which will be held from March 2 to 6.

This special motor show will also showcase the Mazda2, Mazda5, Mazda6, Mazda8, CX-7, CX-9, RX-8 and MX-5. The Mazda line-up is one of the most com prehensive fully imported ranges from a major brand.

陳志遠捐一半身家

（吉隆坡26日訊）擁有24億3369萬令吉身家的成功集團創辦人丹斯里陳志遠宣佈，響應比爾蓋茨及巴菲特號召，至少捐出半數財富作慈善用途。

他也是第一位響應上述兩位世界富豪“捐贈誓言”（The Giving Pledge)的大馬富豪。他今天趁著由他兒子拿督陳永欽配合他生日舉辦的“創辦人日”慈善活動中，在會上突然作出這項宣佈，全場響起一片歡呼。

他說，此時正是宣佈良好時機，並笑稱，這項決定也獲得孩子的支持。

“他們認為，我一半的財產對他們而言，已經很足夠了。”

受惠團體較后公佈

他也說，這筆款項將捐給多個慈善團體和“更好的馬來西亞基金會”（Better Malaysia Foundation，前身為陳志遠基金會)，以回報他所愛的祖國。

他在會上也提到，前首相敦馬哈迪醫生是他最崇敬的世界3位偉大領袖之一，其余兩位是新加坡資政李光耀，另一名則是為南非前總統曼德拉。

陳志遠也說，他欣賞發起“捐贈誓言”的比爾蓋茲和巴菲特，兩人捐出自己大部分財富造福人群，他希望隨著加入上述獻捐行列，可激發更多大馬富翁加入。

他進一步宣佈，今年他率先獻捐2000萬令吉，受惠團體較后才公佈，此外，配合今天活動，他以一對一方式捐助慈善團體。

陳志遠的生日是2月23日，他的長子兼成功集團總執行長陳永欽，在籌劃半年后，于今天在成功時代廣場舉辦“創辦人日”，一方面表揚父親成就，另一方面，通過慈善義賣活動，協助國內的慈善團體籌款。

共有28家團體從今天活動中受惠，截至今早，出售固本已籌得150萬令吉，加上陳志遠承諾以一對一方式捐獻，這次活動至少可籌獲300萬令吉。

响应盖茨及股神“赠予誓言”行善　陈志远捐1半身家

二零一一年二月二十七日 凌晨十二时五十三分

（吉隆坡26日讯）成功集团创办人丹斯里陈志远（59岁）响应由美国微软公司创始人比尔盖茨伉俪及股神巴菲特发起的“赠予誓言”计划，今日公布把至少一半的身家捐予慈善事业。作为开始，他将拨出2000万令吉予各慈善机构，至于受惠单位将于日后公布。

与此同时，他也将以“一元对一元”的方式，不管“成功集团创办人日嘉年华会”筹到多少义款，他都会捐出同等的义款。据他了解，今日的活动已筹得150万令吉。他希望明年举办的嘉年华会，其私人捐出的款额将会比今年更多。

一如往年，嘉年华会筹得的善款将捐给28个指定的非政府组织行善，履行该集团的企业社会责任。

他是于周日上午出席“成功集团创办人日嘉年华会”，并在致词时与与会者分享最近作出的重大决定。他表示，鉴于今日的活动别具意义，因此认为是最适合的场合公布加入成为“赠予誓言”计划的一员。

他在简短致词中是这么说：“因此，我承诺捐款，在我一生中或离开人世之后，至少捐出我的一半财富予慈善事业。”

他将捐款予各慈善组织，包括“马来西亚明天更好基金会”，以体现对大马及首相拿督斯里纳吉的支持。在他眼中，前首相敦马哈迪医生是最伟大且是他最尊重及钦佩的国家领袖。

敦马是他觉得世界上最优秀的领袖之一，另外两名则是新加坡资政李光耀和南非黑人领袖纳尔逊曼德拉。此外，他也指比尔盖茨夫妇和巴菲特的善举激发了他的行善决心，并为他们把大部分的身家捐给社会所感动。

他希望抛砖引玉，吸引更多大马人参与“赠予誓言”计划。

陈永钦在父亲身上　学习到施赠之心

成功集团总执行长拿督陈永钦披露，从小到大，不管任何事的处理方式，父亲都展示了最好的一面。除了是一名成功的商人，他认为父亲也是一名很有远见的人。

“这些年来，我从父亲（陈志远）的身上学了很多，他教我行商，包括各类型的商业投资，以及如何生活。”

他致词时表示，在父亲身上学习到的最大收获并不是成功之道，而是施赠之心。

他指父亲的生意不断扩张，但从不忘记服务社群，参与慈善、体育与教育组织。

其实，平均价是低一点！因为己卖出的Bjcor让我己赚了Rm1145.54,
bjcor/LC 也让我赚了Rm153.92
如果真正的平均价应该是1.0584

并不会对股价有帮助！可以证明，曰后VT的身家还会倍增！如果Bjcor的股价永远停留在1.00++，你说VT的身家如何倍增！所以我的身家成长率也要跟随VTan!

    别说的那么绝。。。大家在这里交流意见心得，买卖自负，不需要发出什么誓言的。。。必竟，马来西亚的股市基本上零乱无章，预测只能当个底线作参考而已。。。
