Proposed Issuance of Non-Cumulative Perpetual Capital Securities  

Proposed Issuance of Non-Cumulative Perpetual Capital Securities of up to RM5.0
billion in nominal value to be issued by Public Bank Berhad (PBB) (Capital
Securities) which are stapled to Subordinated Notes to be issued by a
wholly-owned subsidiary of PBB (Subordinated Notes), under a Non-Innovative
Tier 1 Stapled Securities Programme (Programme)
PBB had on 19 March 2009 announced that it had obtained approval from Bank
Negara Malaysia via its letter dated 16 March 2009 for the proposed issuance of
the Capital Securities which are stapled to Subordinated Notes under the
Programme and to classify the Capital Securities as Tier 1 capital for the
computation of the risk-weighted capital ratio of PBB and the PBB Group.
PBB  wishes  to announce that the Securities Commission had vide its letter
dated 4 May 2009 granted approval for PBBs establishment of the Programme and
the issuance of the Capital Securities which are stapled to Subordinated Notes
under the Programme.

This announcement is dated 7 May 2009.

Friday May 8, PETALING JAYA:

Public Bank Bhd and CIMB Bank top the list of Asia’s Best Managed Companies for Malaysia in a poll organised by FinanceAsia.

The two companies also lead the list for Best Corporate Governance and Best Investor Relations. Their respective captains, Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow and Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, were named best CEOs.

For Best Corporate Social Responsibility, plantation giant Sime Darby Bhd is first on the list, followed by Public Bank and CIMB Bank.

Based on market capitalisation, CIMB Bank’s listed parent, Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Bhd, is ahead of Public Bank with RM32bil versus the latter’s RM30.2bil as at yesterday.

Malayan Banking Bhd is still the biggest bank by market capitalisation with RM35.4bil.

Asia’s Best Managed Companies, an annual poll, is aimed at searching for the region’s top companies based on performance in 2008.

FinanceAsia collected votes from 238 investors and analysts across the region.

还有更多的你不知道，华合不只在PBB的大会擦PBB的鞋，华合去到任何一家公司的股东大会都是在擦PBB的鞋的，好像不讲PBB这几个字他会周身不自在。

CIMB早一阵子是挺火爆的，但是现在好多了，不过MBB还是经常被人骂。
尤其是华合去别人的会议，却老在别人的家讲PBB怎么怎么好，怎么怎么厉害，你们要学学PBB啦这样那样的，是别人听到都不是味道啦。
