（吉隆坡15日訊）電力需求增長及匯差賺益，使國家能源（TENAGA，5347，主板貿易）08財年首季淨利勁揚22%，達15億1490萬令吉。

高電力需求，也助國能緩和煤炭成本揚升衝擊。

國能首季電流需求平均增長7.7%，銷售額揚升8.8%，使集團營業額提高10.8%，報62億830萬令吉，並宣佈派息34.97仙。

（吉隆坡15日訊）國家能源（TENAGA，5347，主板貿服股）08財政年第一季的表現非常優異，該公司的核心淨利成長6.8%，從上一財政年同期的10億4430萬令吉，提高到11億1530萬令吉。 與此同時，該公司的營業額從上一財政年同期的56億170萬令吉，提高到62億830萬令吉，漲幅達10.8%。 該公司出色的表現，主要是受到電力需求成長7.7%，以及電力銷售成長8.8%的因素所支撐。 國能主席丹斯里廖莫宜表示，半島地區第一季的電力成長達到8.6%，沙巴地區的電力成長則提高11.6%。 國能首席執行員拿督斯里仄卡利則表示，雖然該公司第一季的表現良好，但仍然面臨兩項威脅。 面臨2威脅 首先是支付予獨立發電商的款項不斷增加。他解釋，隨著丹絨賓發電廠第三階段完工，該公司支付給獨立發電商的款項劇增26%。 其次是煤炭價格，他表示，目前每公噸的煤炭價格已經上揚到90到104美元水平，這對該公司來說，是一項導致成本提高的威脅。 他表示，慶幸的是，該公司已經將86%的煤炭使用量，固定在每公噸60.3美元水平。 總的來說，他表示，雖然上述兩項因素對該公司帶來負面影響，但是由于電力需求成長，比他們預期高6%，因此，將能夠紓解上述負面因素所帶來的影響。 他相信，未來的煤炭價格可能會回軟，這可從近期船運需求下降的情況中看出。 無論如何，他表示，煤炭價格下滑，並不代表他們的成本有可能大幅下降。 除此之外，他表示，國能目前28%的債務是以美元計價、18.8%以日圓計價、53.2%以令吉來計價。他預期美元將持續走軟。 同時，國能將緊密觀察美元的走勢，如果美元繼續走軟，則可能選擇清償美元債務。

ACQUISITION OF REMAINING 7.5% INTEREST IN TNB COAL INTERNATIONAL LIMITED

ACQUISITION OF THE REMAINING 7.5% INTEREST IN TNB COAL INTERNATIONAL LIMITED BY TENAGA NASIONAL BERHAD We refer to our earlier announcement dated 30 April 2007. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (“TNB”) wishes to announce the completion of the acquisition of 7,500 Ordinary Shares at the nominal value of USD1.00 each and USD1,267,500 Redeemable Unconvertible Unsecured Loan Stock representing 7.5% interest in TNB Coal International Limited (“TNB Coal”) held by Scenic Worldwide Limited (“SWL”) for a nominal consideration of USD1.00. SWL is an indirect investment holding company of PT Pamapersada Nusantara (“PAMA”). The said acquisition is completed upon the lodgment of the relevant documents to the Registrar General in Mauritius and stamped on 6 January 2008, being the effective date of the transfer. The transfer of TNB Coal’s 7.5% interest to TNB is one of the conditions precedent to the Share Sale Agreement dated 30 April 2007 by and among PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (“DEJ”), PT Pamapersada Nusantara (“PAMA”) and Dynamic Acres Sdn Bhd. (“DASB”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNB Coal, in relation to the divestment of the entire 99% of DASB’s shareholding in DEJ. Upon the completion of the said acquisition, TNB Coal is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNB. The said acquisition is not expected to have material effect on the earnings and net assets of TNB Group for the Financial Year ending 31 August 2008. None of the Directors or Major Shareholder of TNB or persons connected to the Directors or Major Shareholder of TNB have any interest, direct or indirect in the said acquisition.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

SIGNING OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ("MOU") BETWEEN TENAGA NASIONAL BERHAD ("TNB") AND SARAWAK ENERGY BERHAD ("SEB") Tenaga Nasional Berhad ("TNB") wishes to announce that it has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with Sarawak Energy Berhad ("SEB") to set out amongst other, the parties’ understanding and commitment to collaborate on the analysis and development of energy options and resources to support the objectives and obligations of both Parties, particularly relating to the potential transmission of electricity to Peninsular Malaysia from hydro and / or coal power generated in Sarawak. The parties will also, amongst others, establish a TNB-SEB Working Committee to facilitate and assist the parties in the implementation of the MOU and work together in the procurement of all relevant permits and/or approvals from the Federal Government, State Government of Sarawak and other relevant authorities as may be required for the collaboration. The signing of the MOU will not have any effect on the issued and paid-up capital and it will not have any material effect on the earnings and net assets of TNB Group or on the shareholding of the substantial shareholder of TNB. None of the Directors or Major Shareholder of TNB or persons connected to the Directors or Major Shareholder or TNB have interest, direct or indirect , on the said matter.
