Even as French Rafale is struggling to get a foreign customer and the process of contract negotiations with IAF for 126 fighter deal is yet to see the light of the day, its European counterpart and close competitor Eurofighter Typhoon has crosses the 200,000 hours of flying milestone on Monday. Incidentally, Eurofighter is frontline jet of five European Air Forces with 378 aircraft in service.
Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH Alberto Guiterrez confirmed the crossing of 200,000 flying hours of figure. With 719 Eurofighter on contract, 571 aircraft ordered and 378 aircraft delivered, the programme has “never looked stronger”, he claimed.
Alberto Gutierrez said, “This impressive milestone underlines the outstanding track-record of the Eurofighter Typhoon.”
