The Board of Directors of the Company wishes to announce that Peps-JV (Melaka) Sdn Bhd (“PJVM”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, had on 10 July 2023 received a conditional approval from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry Malaysia in respect of PJVM’s application for a Manufacturing License under the Industrial Co-ordination Act 1975 to undertake the activity of Manufacture and Assembly of Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEV), Electric Passenger Vehicles and Electric Commercial Vehicles, subject to the conditions to be fulfilled by PJVM within six (6) months from the letter of approval (“Conditional Approval”). The obtainment of Manufacturing License will allow PJVM to establish a Manufacturing Plant to manufacture and assemble Energy Efficient Vehicles, Electric Passenger Vehicles and Electric Commercial Vehicles and other related products in Malaysia. This expansion will open up new business opportunities for revenue and business growth while aligning the business with sustainability initiatives. The Conditional Approval will not have any material effect on the earnings per share and net assets per share of the Company and its subsidiaries for the financial year ending 31 December 2023. The Conditional Approval will not have any effect on the share capital, gearing and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of the Company. Query Letter Contents	We refer to EPMB’s announcement dated 15 April 2024 in respect of the aforesaid matter. In this connection, kindly furnish Bursa Securities with the following additional information for public release: 1) The details of the assembly plant and manufacturing facilities including the location, size and current stage of completion. 2) The estimated financial commitment for the assembly plant and manufacturing facilities and the source of funds. 3) The details of the permits and approvals required from the relevant authorities for the assembly and manufacturing of the vehicles and the status of approvals todate. 4) The existing automotive business of the Group comprises the manufacturing of automotive components and distribution of automotive parts whereas the Agreement is for the assembly and manufacturing of vehicles.
