How can I do, if not shout to him?
Our church had an intern priest recently.
Last month, I met him in an Indian inn.
He told me, the treasurer of our church shouted to him last Sunday.
Because his internship had a required payment of RM200 per month, while our church only wanted to pay him RM100 per month.
While it was a 4 trips * 3 days internship, from Friday to Sunday, and he had to travel from his seminary to KL every week.
RM100 for 12 days, which was less than RM300 living expenses a month, surely not enough in KL.
Since the priest was from a remote rural area of china, he also didn’t have enough money to subsidize his internship.
So he had no choice but tried to bargain with the treasurer.
Nevertheless, the treasurer shouted to his face, “There is no money for u, if you don’t want to serve, then u no need to come next week at all.”
Actually, I could also empathy our treasurer’s dilemma.
It was a church mostly consisted of college students whose offers were normally RM1 each week.
Thus we were probably the poorest church in KL.
Since bible stated every church like a family.
If a family encountered a problem, should we try to think out a way to overcome it, or just simply say there is no other way except shouting to others?
Actually there was, for example, our treasurer might just explain our finance difficulties to the seminary and asked them if they could send a volunteer who didn’t rely on the intern compensation.
I was sure there were local students studied there.
The bad things is after u shout to someone, u can never fully withdraw it.
Our intern priest was quite hurt and I could see his disappointment on his face.
