M'sia tips halal exports to surge
KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA said on Monday its exports of 'halal' goods will defy the economic downturn and surge to US$900 million (S$1.33 billion) this year, up 40 percent from two years ago.
Trade Minister Mustapa Mohamed said there was strong demand for halal products - deemed acceptable under Islamic laws - from the 57 nations in the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
'While intra-OIC trade is still low, I am very confident that given the ... growing demand for halal products ... Malaysia will register a significant increase in trade,' he said according to the official news agency Bernama.
Malaysia, a predominantly Muslim country, is trying to position itself as a global hub for the halal industry.
Under the concept of halal, pork and its by-products, alcohol and animals not slaughtered according to procedures laid out in the Islamic holy book the Koran are forbidden.
Speaking to a forum on the halal industry, Mustapa said the potential of the global halal market, estimated to be worth US$635 billion currently, remained largely untapped. 'The current global Muslim population stands at 1.8 billion. This represents 28 percent of the total world population,' he said.
'However, the total global halal food market is significantly lower at 16 percent compared to the size of the global food market, meaning there is a significant gap.' -- AFP |

At RM28.75, Nestle (Malaysia) is capitalised at RM6.74 bln. For this, what do investors get in return?
Nestle is a well-known brand. Its worldwide presence has enabled the group to consolidate its operations to achieve the lowest possible production cost and to produce good quality food products. Despite having to resort to adjusting its selling price upwards during times when raw material costs where high, it was never the group's first option. Therefore, in response to lower raw materials costs, the group has adjusted its selling prices downwards. The selling price of other products, such as Milo, was lowered by approximately 75. Recognising the difficulty of increasing selling prices, the downward selling price adjustment for some of its products, such as milk products, was in the form of adding bonus packs to existing packaging so that the effective selling price per unit is lowered.
Given the group's favourable track record to sailing through the Great Asian Crisis without great difficulty and subsequently recovering withing a short time, i Capital believes that Nestle (Malaysia) would be able to sail through the currently global financial crisis. Furthermore, Nestle (Malaysia) has recently been focusing on launching affordable, as well as value-for-money products, with the aim of gaining market share during such hard times. Believing that Nestle (Malaysia) still offers stable growth opportunities, i Capital retains its medium-term Buy below RM28.00 rating for Nestle (Malaysia). |

因为多给了Special Dividend，所以08年派发的股息比EPS高。。 |

pbb8.45，8.50五分五分起落
maybulk3.16, 3.18两分两分起落，之前在两块多时有一分一分那样噢。
一个股是不是到了某个价格，它会有特定的最小起落价位？
nestle是不是不可以28.05，28.10这样排的？ |
