我觉得 find the cause... 比较“顺”，在定义上比较“贴切”，或许两者都没错？

find out: to get information, after trying to discover it or by chance

"find the cause" : 找到约 14,100,000 条结果 （用时 0.08 秒）
"find out the cause" : 找到约 3,880,000 条结果 （用时 0.08 秒）

→ You can decide if you want to (have it repaired) after we find the (cause of the) problem.
我觉得whether if you want to repair it after we have found out the (cause of the) problem

“if you want to repair it” 是表示“你”自己修理，如果让别人帮你修理是“have it repaired”
I cut my hair = 我自己剪头发
I had my hair cut = 我让别人帮我剪头发

除非你说：if you want us to repair it...
“whether if...”：whether 和 if 是不可以一起使用的

在这句子里，“after we have found” 和“after we find” 都可以
在 after 和 before 的短句里可以不用完成时，因为这些词已清楚表示动作的前后次序，当然用完成时也没错。
“He goes to work after he reads the newspaper.” 或 “He goes to work after he has read the newspaper.”
“I brush my teeth before I go to bed.” 或 “I have brushed my teeth before I go to bed." （这没错，但个人感觉有些怪）
when 的短句里则常用完成时：
“He goes to work when he has read the newspaper.”
“I go to bed when I have brushed my teeth.”

(二) 单数主语：

注：
辅助动词用 is （现在+单数）
在xxx = is + ing动词

(1) 肯定陈述句：(is ...ing)
她在做饭。→ She is cooking.（在做饭=is cooking）
他在玩电脑游戏。→ He is playing a computer game.（在玩=is playing）
它在追小猫。→ It is running after a cat.（在追=is running after）
我的爸爸在开车。→ My father is driving.（在开车=is driving）
那只狗在吠邮差。→ The dog is barking at the postman.（在吠=is barking）

(2) 否定陈述句：(is not ...ing)
他不是在画画。→ He is not painting. （不是在画画=is not painting）
它不是在寻找食物。→ It is not looking for food. （不是在寻找=is not looking）
她不是在熨衣服。→ She is not doing the ironing. （不是在熨衣服=is not doing the ironing）
我的姨妈不是在喝咖啡。→ My aunt is not drinking coffee. （不是在喝=is not drinking）
那个人不是在等公共汽车。→ The man is not waiting for a bus. （不是在等=is not waiting）

(3) 肯定疑问句：(is ... ...ing ...?)
她在等人吗？→ Is she waiting for somebody? （...在等...吗？= is… waiting…?）
他在打文件吗？→ Is he typing a document? （...在打...吗？= is...typing...?）
它在冬眠吗？→ Is it hibernating? （...在冬眠...吗？= is...hibernating...?）
那个男孩儿在等他的母亲吗？→ Is the boy waiting for his mother? （...在等...吗？= is...waiting...?）
那个人在修理屋顶吗？→ Is the man repairing the roof? （...在修理...吗？= is...repairing...?）

(4) 否定疑问句：(is ... not ...ing ...?)
他不是在读书准备考试吗？→ Is he not studying for the exam? （...不是在读书… 吗？= is...not studying?）
它不是在喂小猫吗？→ Is it not feeding the kittens? （...不是在喂…吗？= is...not feeding...?）
她不是在打扫房子吗？→ Is she not cleaning the house? （...不是在打扫…吗？= is...not cleaning?）


你的叔叔不是在遛狗吗？→ Is your uncle not walking the dog? （...不是在遛(狗)…吗？= is...not walking?）
你的邻居不是在修剪草坪吗？→ Is your neighbour not mowing the lawn? （...不是在修剪…吗？= is...not mowing?）

LZ，想請教一下何時用that？
例：he told me that ....(something something)
      he told me ...(something something)

如果后面的（也就是你所谓的 something something）是一个有主语+动词的子句，就需要 that 来连接，如：
Do you know that （Ann has resigned）?
He told me that （his boss had been murdered）.
It seems that （no one knows what has happened to the manager）.
蓝色：主语； 红色：动词

其他如：
He told me to shut up.
He told them to get lost.
She told him to mind his own business.
则不用 that （没有主语的子句）

正式语法应该是 It is he。单数或复数动词则以主语为根据：

She is the girl that sells the tickets.
I like people that smile.

“want have” [现在时/原型动词]+[原型动词]：接不到，不符合语法，应该是 want to have
可以这么接的（现在想得到的）只有“go”和“help”这两个动词：
Go do your homework. （美式英语，是 Go and do 省略了and）
They are coming to help clean the house. （help to clean 省略了to）

我也很好奇    马来西亚人小学就开始接触英语了   条件也比很多国家好
为什么我国的英语水平还是那么的差强人意    尤其是speaking的时候
是不是自小学习三种语言而有点兼顾不了啊 ？？

因为我们的学校不是帮助学生打好英语基础，而是想尽办法破坏他们的基础......*从新自创一套错误的发音-
*语法教到不清不楚，不三不四
*用听写取代阅读
*用默写取代书写
再加上没有系统，莫名其妙的考试范围，简介组织学生打好英语基础
两个字：难啊！

   我也觉得本地的英文教学太肤浅     学来学去grammer还是一知半解看到小学六年级的课本     再看看国外学生year 6的课本     真是一个天一个地
