How to improve video recording with your Google Nexus 4

Nexus 4 might be many things, like the best value-for-money Android propositionright now, but camerawise it's not the sharpest tool in the shed, given that LG had skimped on the 13 MP unit gracing its more expensive Optimus G brother, and, overall, quality camera modules are not what LG mobiles are known with .


With a little bit of Android skills you can up the bitrate of the video recording from the Nexus 4, thus improve the quality of the footage you capture meaningfully. The mod is basically similar to what a lot of Nexus 7 users have done, and requires root access to change the files.

• 
  Using a file browser (like root explorer/es file explorer etc) go to the /system/etc folder
• Make sure your system is mounted RW
• Search for the media_profiles.xml file and open it up in any text editor
• Once you scroll down you will see the following:

• Change the bitRate from 12000000 to 20000000
• Save and reboot.
  

So far, so good, this gives you 20Mbit encoding, which is much better than the 12Mbit default value, but makes the video files larger, of course, so if you are space-tight, have this in mind.



Alternatively, you can just try a dedicated app like lgCamera from Google Play, which lets you change the bitrate, but also has many other adjustments that delve deep into the manufacturer's settings. We managed to set our office Optimus G to 60fps Full HD video recording at 20Mbit with it, for example, and you can find the app in the source link below, along with the XDA-Devs thread for manually fixing the bitrate.

外面的商家开始应该是买 1700多一点点，很少人会去买
然后1-2月后跌价，在1500-1600之间，那时可以开始入手
如果耐心的话，3月后，那个价格会让你惊讶，那时最好入手的时间，这是android机的共同特征。

Our friends at SoyaCincau brought to our attention that the confirmed local pricing for the Malaysia unit of the eagerly, eagerly anticipated LG Nexus 4 by Google has been leaked – on our very own forums, no less. A reputable seller in the Trade Zone subforum has revealed that the local pricing for the Nexus 4 16GB will be RM1799, and is accepting bookings right now. The same seller – who is a senior member – also states that there will be 2 years of warranty by LG Malaysia. As of 3.30pm there has already been more than 80 bookings for the device, confirming the deep interest for Google’s latest flagship smartphone here.

In addition, there has been whispers in the Google Nexus 4 thread of our forums that not only will the device be coming in very soon, it appears DiGi has managed quite a scoop by grabbing exclusive rights to the device to be included into its smart plans.

If these are true, LG Malaysia may have been hinting about it since last week in its Facebook page, which we mentioned yesterday. The image above, taken from the LG Malaysia Fan Club Facebook page (which seems to be the official channel for some reason), clearly implies that we may see the Nexus 4 by Christmas.

Right now, nothing is confirmed, so do take these with a pinch of salt. However we are in the midst of confirming the rumours at the moment, and we will update this post as and when we hear more.

我只是可以说这个价钱太over了，别人美国售价299，换算来要1000左右，没有想到进到马来西亚，价钱起了差不多100%

USD299只是在Google Play而已，Google Play以外的都不是这个价钱，就算在美国还是欧洲地区都是

我了解这个原因，但是价钱也真的太过over了，接近一半，只怪马来西亚的play store不够成熟

Play Store也是好几个国家可以罢了，本地？慢慢等
预计中算是好了，之前很多觉得1900-2000++
犹如楼上说的，可以等就等咯
Gnex刚出来也不是很便宜的

就算RM1799，可能也买不到，LG根本没有能力迅速提供全世界的需求量。。。

我相信很难，因为应该不会进很多只，他的fb已经叫你买同样spec的optimas系列了
