Suns cruise past Jazz, head into playoffs as No. 3 seed

SALT LAKE CITY (NBA.com exclusive) -- Coming off a year in which they missed the playoffs, the Phoenix Suns had their doubters before the 2009-10 season started, and when they struggled in December and January.

Now, the Suns are the team no one wants to face in the NBA playoffs.

Phoenix showed why in a surprisingly easy 100-86 win over the Utah Jazz on the final day of the regular season on Wednesday. The Suns (54-28) built a big lead by playing great defense, making 3-pointers and getting a big boost from their bench while cruising against the depleted Jazz (53-29).

Phoenix clinched the third seed in the Western Conference with the victory and will play Portland in a series that begins Sunday. Utah is the No. 5 seed and will open the playoffs at Denver on Saturday.

"It was a great way to finish the regular season," said Phoenix guard Steve Nash. "For a team that was picked by many to be on the outside looking in in the playoffs, or at the bottom of the playoff race, to finish third in the West is rewarding. The most important thing is we're playing well and heading into the playoffs."

The Jazz were without Carlos Boozer, who suffered a strained right-side oblique muscle in Utah's win over Golden State on Tuesday night. They were also without Andrei Kirilenko. He sat for the 15th time in 17 games because of a strained left calf. Without those two players, Utah had little chance against the red-hot Suns.

"You take [Boozer's] 20 and 10 off the boards it makes things hard, but that's a part of life and we deal with it," said Jazz coach Jerry Sloan.

It made things harder for Utah than anyone could have imagined.

The Jazz were out of whack offensively throughout the contest. The tone of the game was set early with Utah missing seven of its first eight shots, and the Jazz's shooting percentage never got in the 40s.

Phoenix isn't known for its defense, but it was exceptional. The Suns forced 19 turnovers and held Utah to 37.5 percent shooting for the game.

"I think our defense turned it up," Nash said.

The Suns especially did late in the first quarter and for much of the second. They took advantage after Utah's Paul Millsap, Boozer's replacement in the starting lineup, picked up his second foul nine minutes into the game and had to sit. Utah had to finish the first quarter with Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews, Kosta Koufos, Kyrylo Fesenko and Kyle Korver on the floor.

The Suns capitalized, closing the period on a 9-2 run to take a 30-25 lead.

Phoenix put the game away in the second quarter with a 15-1 run that spanned four minutes. The Suns held the Jazz to two baskets and eight points in the first nine minutes of the second period. Phoenix took a commanding 45-28 lead when Goran Dragic scored a layup in transition.

The Suns were able to take control of the game with their second unit. Their bench outscored Utah's 30-2 in the first half and 50-13 for the game. Phoenix got a balanced scoring effort with six players in double figures. Amar'e Stoudemire led the way with 20 points and seven rebounds.

"I thought this was going to be a really tough game," Nash said. "We came in prepared and we played well. It wasn't as tough as we thought, but we know that now the real season starts and anything is possible."

No one would have considered the Suns an NBA title contender when they went 14-18 in December and January. But they're now the league's hottest team, having won 14 of their last 16 games.

Coach Alvin Gentry said reasons for Phoenix's turnaround and hot streak are that the players are accountable, know their roles and never point fingers.

"We've got great leaders," Gentry said. "Between Amar'e and Steve and Grant (Hill) they do a great job of leading this team. And then we got great followers. The guys fall in place. The second unit at the end of the night is the one who got us separation. They do a good job. They totally believe in each other."

And they believe they might just stick around a while in the playoffs.

"We just have to continue to play the way we're playing on both ends of the floor," Nash said. "If we don't turn the ball over and we rebound, we're going to be tough to beat."

    华兄猫弟，依我个人看法，爵士很可能看到小牛也已拿下比赛，无法在比赛与太阳战斗下去了。。。Boozer又有伤在身，不敢冒险把Boozer扛上场上，到时真的拿下太阳而损失大将，无法攀得再高就完蛋了，再说最近掘金处于低迷状况，不再像当时季初一样，入日冲天；不可一世的倔金把爵士打得七凌八乱，而且George Karl第一圈也不在领挥。。。要看就看爵士的命运了。。。希望是爵士原本就安排AK47 与 Boozer，储存力量和避免伤势蔓延而缺席，要到季后赛才真正使出实力来。。。

斯隆遭遇22年不公 他应获最佳教练
斯隆在爵士队22年如一日，是如今体育界的传奇，但是这个传奇22年来居然没有获得一次最佳主教练称号。因此，NBA官网发文称，斯隆遭遇22年不公待遇，在今年爵士队战绩不错的背景下，斯隆理应获得最佳主教练称号。除此之外，开拓者主教练麦克米兰、雷霆主教练布鲁克斯以及火箭主教练阿德尔曼获得提名。

“最佳主教练是死亡之吻，如果一个教练获得这个称号之后，他一两年之内就会被解雇掉，这几乎已经成为一种规律了。所以我不想要这个称号。”斯隆自我解嘲说。爵士队在斯隆率领下，过去22个赛季有19次打进季后赛，其中13次获胜场次在50场以上。如今斯隆的赛季平均胜场也在50胜以上。

因此，在NBA一些其他主教练还在为50胜努力的时候，斯隆率领爵士取得50胜已经司空见惯了。NBA常规赛昨天刚结束，今天就有两名主教练被解雇，一名是快船队主教练金-休斯，一名是76人的主教练艾迪-乔丹，他们都是因为球队战绩不佳被解雇的。而斯隆则在爵士队22年如一日，这更加反应出斯隆的能力和价值。

或许有人说爵士队兵强马壮，所以取得如今的成绩理所当然，所以斯隆不应该获得最佳主教练。按照目前NBA选取最佳主教练的方法，他们一般选取那些克服伤病等问题，然后取得明显进步的球队，所以爵士队似乎不在此列。但是事实并非如此，爵士队一直以来也克服了不少问题。

首先是布泽尔的合同问题，布泽尔在休赛期因为合同和爵士队管理层纠缠不休，而且这种影响明显带到了训练营，但是斯隆严斥布泽尔，让布泽尔重新投入比赛；其次是球队伤病问题，爵士队从德隆-威廉姆斯到基里连科本赛季都有受伤病困扰；再次是球队交易问题，之前爵士队为了省钱以及其他考虑，换走了斯隆的一些轮换球员。

所以斯隆应该有资格获得最佳主教练。与此同时，有资格获得最佳主教练的还有麦克米兰、雷霆队主教练斯科特-布鲁克斯、雄鹿队主教练斯科特-斯凯尔斯、太阳队主教练埃尔文-金特里、老鹰队主教练麦克-伍德森以及火箭主教练里克阿德尔曼.

西北系爵士克掘金 丹佛凶多吉少  

首先是火箭的熊熊尾焰，接着是太阳的高温曝晒，两次严重的灼伤让爵士保住西部第三的希望化为泡影。如果失去的仅仅是季后赛首轮的主场优势，爵士还不难接受，更糟糕的是昨天的一场失利就把他们推向了季后赛的另一条岔路。现在，纵然爵士能闯过掘金这一关，在西部半决赛中等待着他们的九成九是卫冕冠军湖人。

在常规赛最后一战中输给太阳后，控卫德隆在短短数分钟的赛后采访中不下四次提起“机会溜走”。难怪爵士球员沮丧，他们已经被湖人打出了心理障碍，过去两个赛季他们的季后赛征途都是终结在洛杉矶人手中。爵士主帅斯隆不得不提醒他的弟子：“现在除了掘金我们不应该担心别的球队，他们才是我们接下来的对手。”

诡异的是，爵士和掘金这对几乎年年都为西北赛区冠军争得头破血流的常规赛死敌，在季后赛中的照面却屈指可数。这两支球队在长达35年的时间里，只在季后赛中相遇过三次，分别是1984年、1985年和1994年西部半决赛那轮经典的七场大战。16年前，正值盛年的卡尔·马龙和斯托克顿联手阻止了创下“黑八奇迹”的掘金。

“掘金将会是一个熟悉而又陌生的季后赛对手。”斯隆说，“每年的常规赛他们都会给我们吃许多苦头，他们打得顺手的时候相当难缠，投篮准头好，快攻打得流畅，防守也很严密。简单地说，我们和掘金的比赛往往变成意志的对决，比较坚强的那一方赢面较大。我们遇上的是一支季后赛经验丰富的球队，必须全神贯注才能对付他们。”

自从德隆在2005年夏天来到盐湖城后，双方的20次交手他们12次获胜，其中主场8胜2负，客场4胜6负。不过本赛季爵士并没有占到任何便宜，赛季揭幕战他们就败走丹佛，此后又连折两阵，1胜3负的直接交手战绩，也导致爵士与掘金战绩相同却无缘分区冠军。

由于布泽尔和基里连科都有伤在身，爵士很容易被视作西部除了雷霆和开拓者之外的又一个“软柿子”，但联盟新一代控卫中的佼佼者德隆还在，斯隆的球队也素来以强悍著称。而且，掘金自己的问题不小，他们的主帅乔治·卡尔正在接受癌症治疗，基本不可能归队执教首轮比赛。

“我们需要对德隆格外注意。”掘金控卫比卢普斯说，“他是那种可以统治比赛的球员，挡拆配合已经练得炉火纯青，单打、中投样样都行。德隆身上没有明显的弱点，我预计我们必须用不同的人轮番防守他，打乱他的节奏，这是有效遏制他的最好方法。”

昌西德隆之争 成爵士取胜关键  

一个场均砍下19.6分，一个场均得到18.7分，除了挂控卫之名行得分后卫之实的罗斯、埃文斯和布鲁克斯三人，比卢普斯和德隆就是联盟里攻击火力最强的两个1号位球员。而且，他们又都掌控着本队的进攻节奏，负责为安东尼、布泽尔这些得分手输送炮弹。在这轮系列赛里，他俩谁能在对位中占得上风，谁所在的球队就能占据先手。

掘金在两队战绩相同的情况下能够排名西部第四，靠的就是常规赛四战三胜的成绩。比卢普斯只打了其中的两场，表现得俨然是一个得分后卫：他场均得到27分，却只送出3次助攻。更夸张的是，他场均罚球次数高达14.0次，两场比赛单靠罚球就整整得了24分！德隆的表现也算不错，4场比赛场均得到22.3分，10.3次助攻，命中率高达50.9%。但比起已经34岁的比卢普斯，爵士控卫的侵略性反倒不如对手。

近两个月，比卢普斯的状态并不好，他的投篮命中率只有38%左右，三分命中率更是降至三成出头。但谁也不敢保证，比卢普斯在季后赛对爵士时不会再度发飙，而爵士想在西北内战中胜出，限制比卢普斯是必须完成的任务——一旦卡尔教练不能复出，掘金1号才是球队真正的舵手。

在联盟很多控卫眼中，比卢普斯和德隆属于一类球员：身体健壮，头脑冷静，技术全面。但文无第一武无第二，这次他们必须要分出高下，不为“第一控卫”这类虚名，而是为了球队的胜利。

西北对决看防守 健康成两队取胜之匙

    主场 本赛季，掘金主场战绩达到了34胜7负，和湖人、魔术及老鹰并列联盟第二；对于打球注重气势的掘金众将而言，在家门口打比赛无疑更利于他们发挥水平。另外，掘金这个赛季已经在主场两次击败爵士，这对他们而言无疑占据了一些心理优势。如果比赛最终被拖到第七场生死战，掘金无形中要占据一些上风。

安东尼 安东尼本赛季只参加了两场对爵士的比赛，但表现却几近完美：场均33.5分8.0个篮板3.5次助攻，投篮命中率高达54.6%。如今，基里连科已经缺席了赛季结束前的9场比赛，季后赛能否如期复出还不得而知。一旦连“AK47”都不在了，依靠马修斯或C.J.迈尔斯想要防住安东尼，更是难上艰难。

主教练 卡尔首轮可能无法执教，助教丹特利无论经验还是临场应变，都玩不过已经在联盟执教了近2000场、老谋深算的斯隆。比赛进入关键时刻，主教练的排兵布阵可能影响最终的胜负。

韧性 和掘金一旦落后容易士气低落不同，爵士是联盟有名难缠的球队，尤其是在主场能源方案球馆，任何球队大比分领先后都不能掉以轻心。两者死拼，爵士占据上风的可能很大。

防守 本赛季，爵士的防守有所进步，场均失分仅为98.9分，比上赛季整整少了2分，此项排名也升至联盟第12位；掘金的场均失分则高达102.4分，是联盟失分第11高的球队。在季后赛的战场上，防守好的球队总能笑到最后。

健康 这是两支深受伤病困扰的球队，掘金方面，马丁刚刚复出，“鸟人”安德森坚持上场，患了癌症的主帅卡尔依然归期不定；而在爵士方面，锋线两大主力布泽尔和基里连科都前途未卜。谁能尽早摆脱病魔，谁就很可能笑到最后。

爵士：心急办坏事 德隆怒撞巴尔博萨亦输球

  常规赛收官一役坐镇主场迎战太阳，只要拿下对手，爵士就将确保季后赛首轮主场优势。赛前，盐湖城媒体更是热炒比赛气氛，称这是爵士本赛季常规赛最具意义的一场比赛。可或许正是这种压力，使得球员心态失衡，尤其是德隆·威廉姆斯。

德隆全场尽管依旧拿下24分，但其中一半来自罚球线，17次投篮只有5次命中，同时因为过于纠结于个人进攻，他全场的助攻只有6次，这让爵士队进攻体系毫无章法，全场主队的投篮命中率只有可怜的37.5%，主场告负也就不那么让人意外了。

值得一提的是，德隆上一次单场助攻只有6次也是在和太阳队的比赛中，而那一场比赛的结果也是爵士队告负。

德隆过于陷入单打独斗，这其中尽管有卡洛斯·布泽尔和基里连科不能出场的因素，但另一个重要原因就是他和太阳后卫巴尔博萨斗气。

第二节比赛还剩下8分半钟时，德隆领命出场换下罗尼·普莱斯，杰里·斯隆试图通过换人来扭转场上落后10分的不利情况。但在接下来的不到一分半钟时间内，爵士队竟然被连续抢断三次，其中，包括一次德隆被弗莱的直接断球。

金特里也针对德隆的重新出场进行了有针对性的调整，他让速度更快的巴尔博萨来盯防德隆，而将德拉季奇调去防守马修斯。巴尔博萨不仅脚步快，而且还有一手巴西球员都会的防守小动作，这让德隆愈加心烦意乱。这一节结束前6分50秒，德隆与巴尔博萨产生肢体冲突险些动手。之后一次进攻，德隆带着怒气在内线硬扛巴尔博萨，后者适时倒地，哨响，进攻犯规。德隆郁闷得恨不得冲过去和裁判理论。情绪严重受到影响的德隆已经无法在球场上发挥正常水平，随后不到40秒，德拉季齐一个三分一个快攻上篮，将分差拉开到17分，老斯隆马上站起，申请紧急暂停。恢复冷静的德隆之后表现少有好转，但比赛的主动权再也没有回到主队的手中。

赛后，德隆自我反省说，“这是一场艰难的比赛，我们对上的是一支状态火热的太阳队，他们在最近的16场比赛中拿下了14场。看上去，他们就是为了使命来到这里。”

老斯隆并不愿意将失败的所有责任都归结在某一个人身上，“结果让人失望，但我们又能够怎么样。这一场我们少了一个场均20加10的主力，这削弱了我们的竞争力。”

爵士队只有接受现实，接受季后赛首轮面对掘金而且没有主场优势的命运。德隆希望队友忘记这一场比赛，全身心地投入到季后赛的备战中去，“我们必须把这一场的结果放到脑后，我们是曾有机会获得西部第三，可惜错过了。的确，季后赛中我们是没有主场优势，但终归有比赛在等着我们。”

    别客气，是自己看完爵士的新闻过后，想和大家一齐分享与分析爵士，大家才会有共鸣。。。  

我觉得Boozer的表现绝对是爵士的希望，还有AK47因该可以顺利健康归队，如果他防得住Anthony，爵士才有希望。。。
而D.Will就别再太过鲁莽，Okur的表现需要持续不变。。。Milsap很可能是此轮比赛X-因素...但愿如此吧。。。

    AK47上不到场已经是不争的事实。。。。现在就连Okur也不能够上场了。。。 ，正在看直播，Okur第二节上半段接球要上篮时，地板好滑。。。扭伤了脚腕。。。直接出场外了。。。现在内线出现危机了。。。

    奋战到第三节，第四节被J.R.Smith一人打爆。。。Anthony没人可防得住他，个人42得分，创下个人得分季后赛记录。。。
AK47快回来吧。。。（注意：每逢爵士打爵金，J.R.Smith都是有好的表现，如同Lakers 的Odom一样，需要注意了。）

Anthony's 42 give Nuggets 1-0 series lead

DENVER (NBA.com exclusive) -- The shots kept falling for Carmelo Anthony, and the Jazz just kept falling.

Anthony scored a playoff career-high 42 points in the Nuggets' 126-113 win over Utah in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series Saturday night, a series that looks gloomy for Utah.

The Jazz are only down 1-0 in the series but they face a deeper hole with the loss of center Mehmet Okur. Okur suffered a left Achilles injury when he went down on a drive with 8:04 left in the second period and had to be helped from the floor.

"I was driving to the basket and I slipped," Okur said. "Then I felt pain because all my weight was on my left side because I was driving right. Then I felt something pop."

He is scheduled to have an MRI done on the heel Sunday at 10 a.m. but his teammates seemed resigned to trying to beat the Nuggets without him.

"We need him out there but what can you do about injuries? You've just got to keep playing," guard Deron Williams said. "It's been the story of our team the last couple of season. Injuries happen to every team, they just seem to happen to us at the wrong time."

If Okur is out, he will join Andrei Kirilenko (strained calf) on the sidelines, depriving Utah of two of its best frontline players. It will be a tough task, especially if Anthony keeps playing like he did Saturday.

"I told myself in order for us succeed in the playoffs, it's going to come down to me," Anthony said. "Me being a leader of this team, I've got to set the tone out there."

The third leading scorer in the NBA this year carved up the Jazz, hitting 18 of 25 shots against a team that prides itself on defense. But no matter what Utah did, stopping Anthony was nearly impossible.

"There was no stopping him," said Williams, who led the Jazz with 26 points and 11 assists. "You could say double him but he really wasn't taking any dribbles, he was just shooting over us. We tried to zone him a little bit but tonight it just didn't work. It was one of those nights when a great player steps up and plays great."

Anthony had help. Five other Denver players scored in double figures, led by J.R. Smith. Smith was quiet for the first three quarters before catching fire in the fourth when he scored 18 of his 20 points.

Smith hit three 3-pointers in the first 2:49 of the fourth to turn a tie game into a 99-92 lead for Denver. When he did finally miss from long range, he grabbed the rebound and hit a layup over two Utah players to increase Denver's lead to eight.

The Jazz closed within four soon after, but the Nuggets kept hitting shots. Smith's fourth 3-pointer made it 111-100, and later he stole a Williams pass and fed Anthony for a game-clinching layup with 3:13 left.

"He really had a great finish," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said of Smith. "He has a great ability to shoot the ball. We were trying to hang on but those guys really made it tough for us."

About the only good news for Utah was the play of Carlos Boozer, who had 19 points and played 41 minutes. Boozer was questionable with an oblique strain but he was effective most of the night.

"I felt good," Boozer said. "For the most part I didn't think about it."

Boozer's play, and C.J. Miles' 17 points in the first half, kept the Jazz in the game. They survived Denver's 9-2 run to start the second half, scoring eight straight to tie it at 66. The Jazz got the lead back on two Williams free throws with 4:45 left in the third.

Utah was able to stay in the game despite losing another player for most of the second half. Miles left the game after colliding with guard Chauncey Billups early in the third quarter.

应该不关地板的事，是他自己带球切篮的时候扭伤的....

这下可糟糕了，okur这么一伤，爵士队的内线更难和Nuggets的Nene,K Mart抗衡了....希望Sloan能找到对策吧....
