The Board of Directors of KIB (“Board”) wishes to announce that Karyon (Jinhua) Advanced Materials Co., Ltd (“KJAM”), a joint venture company of Karyon Ventures Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KIB, will cease all its operations with effect from 31 December 2018 (“Cessation”). Notwithstanding that, KJAM will proceed to resolve on-going business arrangement executed/contributed with customers and/or suppliers prior to 31 December 2018 (if any) accordingly.    KJAM recorded an unaudited loss after taxation of RM70,930 for the 6 months financial period ended 30 September 2018, in which KIB shared 2/3 of the loss, which amounted to RM47,286. This loss has reduced 1.06% of KIB’s unaudited consolidated profit before tax for the same financial period. KJAM contributed only approximately 4.03% of KIB’s unaudited consolidated total assets as at 30 September 2018. Further details information of the Cessation is attached to this announcement. Description	KARYON INDUSTRIES BERHAD ("KIB" OR "COMPANY")- LETTER FROM JABATAN KASTAM DIRAJA MALAYSIA
The Board of Directors of KIB wishes to announce that Hsing Lung Sdn Bhd (“HLSB”) (a wholly-owned subsidiary of KIB), had on 17 September 2020, received a letter from Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia dated 17 September 2020 (“Letter”). Based on the Letter, it was claimed that there is a shortfall in payment of sales tax amounting to RM777,438.78 (“Shortfall Sum”) for the period from September 2018 to July 2020, due to different classification of product tariff code, and HLSB is required to pay the Shortfall Sum within 14 days from the date of the Letter. Notwithstanding the above, HLSB will make an appeal to the relevant authority in respect of the Letter and the Shortfall Sum. The Letter is not expected to have any material operational impact on KIB and its subsidiaries (“Group”). In the event that the outcome from the appeal is unfavourable, the expected loss to the Group would be up to RM777,438.78. Further development of the above matter will be announced to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in due course. This announcement is dated 18 September 2020.
