It is ridiculous to have two players from the same country playing in the first round.
as for this question,y we must put "playing",but not "play" since there is not any verb in this sentence?
if in the case using "play" instead.could it be right? |

Let see what if I don't put comma.
Object cannot take verb. Placing "was" in front of the present participle is wrong.
Understand now?
if that is the case,we oso can put such as "Object cannot take verb,Place "was" in front of the present participle is wrong" ,izit? |

"placing" is a gerund here.
"Object" is the subject and "verb' is the object.
And the object in the sentence does not have any relation with the gerund "placing".
i mean this part:
i take this as a example.we use gerund in a sentence,is it boz we have alr got a main verb in this sentence,so the second verb must be gerund without conjuction?
cannot take = main verb and place = 2nd verb,so place must use "placing" as gerund, izit? |

all correct,we use bare infinitive to show present/past simple.
We use present participle after the obj to show continuous tenses. |

That is perfect infinitive.
If you say to be confronting,it means he is still scolding Siti Hajar. |
