所以说。。more or less than 不包括2，at least /most 就要2 。。

不知道你们有没有学这个identity...

tan(a/2)=(1-cos a)/sin a=sin a/(1+cos a)

tan 22.5=tan (45/2)
           =(1-cos 45)/sin 45
           =(1-√2/2)/(√2/2)
           =√2-1

1.Solve the equation 4^x - 7 . 2^x - 8 =0. (7 . 2^x is 7 times 2 power of x)

2.Solve the equation 5^k+1=7^k.

3.Find the least number of terms required for an A.P of -5,-1,3... so that the sum exceeds 200.

4.Given f(x)=4/(3-2x)^5, f''(x)

5.Given x and y are related by equation x+y=10 and p is defined by p=x^2y. Find the values of x and y such that p is maximum.

I need it by today. Someone please help me. thanks alot.

  (2^x)^2-7(2^x)-8=0
Let 2^x=a
   a^2-7a-8=0
  (a-8)(a+1)=0
a=8    or   a=-1   (rejected)
2^x=8
x=3

2)5^(k+1)=7^k
     5(5^k)=7^k
    (7/5)^k=5
            k=log 5/log(7/5)
            k=4.783

3)-5,-1,3,...
a=-5   ,   d=4
Sn>200
(n/2)(2a+(n-1)d)>200
  n[2(-5)+(n-1)4]>400
      2n^2-7n-200>0
n<-8.402   or   n>11.902
n=12

4)f(x)=4/(3-2x)^5
   f(x)=4(3-2x)^-5
  f'(x)=4(-5)(-2)(3-2x)^-6
  f'(x)=40/(3-2x)^6
  f''(x)=40(-6)(-2)(3-2x)^-7
  f''(x)=480/(3-2x)^7

5)x+y=10
       y=10-x
p=(x^2)y
p=(x^2)(10-x)
p=10x^2-x^3
dp/dx=20x-3x^2
d^2p/dx^2=20-6x
dp/dx=0
20x-3x^2=0
x(20-3x)=0
x=0  or x=20/3
Take x=20/3,
d^2p/dx^2=20-6(20/3)
d^2p/dx^2=-20   (max)

p is maximum when x=20/3.
y=10-x
y=10-20/3
y=10/3

x=20/3 ,  y=10/3

The function f(x)=x^2-8kx+20kx^2+1 has a minimum value od r^2+4k where r and k are constants.
(a) By using the method of completing square show that r=2k-1
