used to talk about something that may possibly happen or be true:
* Naturally, he was nervous in case anything should go wrong.
* What if I should fall sick and not be able to work?
should somebody/something do something

個人看法： resolve 比較正式，工作常用到resolve和resolution
resolve
- to find an acceptable solution to a problem or difficulty
（E.g: resolve an issue/ a dispute / a conflict / a crisis)
solve
i) to find a way of dealing with a problem or difficult situation
ii) to find the correct answer or explanation for sth
(E.g: solve an equation/ a puzzle / a riddle / a crime / a mystery）
resolution
- the act of solving or settling a problem,disagreement etc
solution
i) a way of solving a problem or dealing with a difficult situation
ii) an answer to a puzzle or to a problem in mathematics

有一个这样的语法：
The verb is singular if the two subjects separated by and refer to the same person or thing.
例句：Red beans and rice is my mom's favorite dish. （红豆饭）
如果 xx and yy 表达的是一个意念，一个东西或一个人，那就需要用单数名词。
如：
Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. （早睡早起：一个概念）
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Patience and perseverance is necessary for success.
如果 kindness and generosity 表达的是一个意念，则该用单数动词为是......
问题是：判断类似的 xx and yy 是否“一个意念”不那么容易，肯定会有很多不同的意见......
Google Search：
"kindness and generosity are" ：About 141,000 results
"kindness and generosity is" ：About 140,000 results
看来双方实力旗鼓相当...... 语言免不了这种“灰色地带”，留给语法家去头痛吧...... |

不像是正式与否的问题；例如 solve 的定义（ii）是resolve所没有的，所以不能说 resolve an equation

我也是上网找到‘is'，可是有为朋友说虽然kindness and generosity是uncountable,可是1+1=2，所以那里是plural,应该是are.
我半信半疑所以来这里问. |
