XOX launches free phone app Voopee

MOBILE telecommunications operator XOX Bhd has launched a free smartphone mobile services application called Voopee, which will allow its users to communicate with fellow users for free via voice, text and multimedia (pictures, emoticons) using WiFi or mobile data packages.

The company is confident that Voopee will be able to net 500,000 users by year-end.

XOX Bhd's group chief executive officer Ng Kok Heng said the target market is young techies (technologi-cally-savvy youths) and the growing market of Malaysian travellers as they have been found to leverage on such mobile apps to avoid incurring call charges.

"When you are overseas, for example, the roaming charges are 20 to 30 times higher per minute. With Voopee, once you download the app, the software will generate a choice of a few three-plus-eight Malaysian numbers that you can choose from.

"Once you've selected a number, you can enable the call forward function, where all your calls will then be forwarded to your Voopee number (created virtually without a need for any additional SIM card). You can disable your Voopee call forward function to resume using your own mobile number," explained Ng.

He said the Voopee connection will deliver high-definition voice quality, adding that he is confident the app will take off in a big way in, among others, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong - countries often visited by Malaysian travellers.

Voopee to Voopee calls are free but a call from a Voopee to a non-Voopee number will incur a 10 sen per minute charge (short messaging services are 10 sen each).

XOX Bhd is marketing Voopee via social media and targeting the travel sector as well as the youth.

Currently, the app is available only for Android smartphones at Google Play Store, Ng said, adding that the Apple iOS version will be available at the end of the first quarter.

XOX Bhd currently has 300,000 active mobile phone service subscribers.

（吉隆坡19日讯）国贸银行集团前总执行长拿督卢志能受委任为XOX说电讯（XOX，0165，创业板）独立非执行董事。

该公司今日向马交所报备，卢志能于零售银行领域有超过25年经验，在任职国贸银行期间，为该公司开创许多创新产品及创下显著的业绩表现，除了曾经领航国贸银行，也曾受委任为柬埔寨加拿大银行的总执行长，以及星展银行董事经理，掌管新加坡与泰国业务营运。

此外，卢志能也曾担任大马电子付费系统私人有限公司（MEPS）董事。

联手e-horizon扩展Voopee

XOX说电讯将与瑞典手机应用程式发展商e-horizon公司联营，把新电讯服务Voopee推向全球。

XOX说电讯与ehorizon将在本周五（3月21日）签署备忘录，放眼扩展Voopee的用户群，加速全球市场促销活动。

Voopee为一项智能手机应用程式，此前是由XOX说电讯和e-horizon联手发展。

通过Voopee，用户可透过网络免费下载，这个无需SIM卡的应用程式，可让用户透过宽频网络或手机网络数据进行通话，或者以低廉收费拨打电话。

（吉隆坡21日讯）XOX说（XOX，0165，创业板）冀望借新推出的电讯服务Voopee，扭转公司的业绩表现，在今年转亏为盈。

XOX说在本週五正式与瑞典手机应用程式发展商e-horizon公司签署联营合约（JV），將其研发的应用程式Voopee推向国际，加速扩大Voopee和XOX说的用户群。        

该公司预期通过这项合作，其用户可从目前的1万6000人，增加至100万人。

XOX说首席执行员黄国兴在今日的记者会上表示，这项新服务与其他通讯应用程式不同之处，在於用户在海外公干或旅行，也可以免付费或以低收费打电话回国，以此节省双方的国际漫游收费，拨打的对象不局限於手机號码，还包括固定线路。

他指出，Voopee是个创新的电讯服务，它让用户在不需要额外的手机或者晶片卡下，拥有另一个手机號码。

「Voopee正通行于新加坡、中国、台湾、香港、柬埔寨、印尼、韩国、泰国、日本、英国、澳洲。」

Voopee推向全球

他表示，这项联营合约，主要是在瑞典成立一家新联营公司-Junyverse私人有限公司，这间新公司將可以把Voopee从东南亚带入全球市场，尤其是欧洲和美国。

「XOX说和E-horizon將分別佔新公司45%和55%的股权比重。」

黄国兴相信，Voopee服务將可以抵消OTT（over-the-top，通过互联网传送讯息）服务对公司造成的衝击。另外，他指出，Voopee服务也可以为该公司带来语音、短信和宽频的收入，並可以扩大XOX的用户群。

Voopee是一项智能手机应用程式，功能类似其他的通讯应用程序，如Whatsapp、Line等。而Voopee的优势在於用户可以透过互联网或手机网络通话，或者以每分钟10仙的低收费拨打电话。

黄国兴补充，该应用程序还能够跟非Voopee用户传达信息。

另外，代表公司签约的XOX说董事经理拿督蔡文杰，也在记者会上指出，XOX说目前和亚洲15家电信供应商在商量合作计划，但一切仍在洽谈阶段，因此，他不愿透露更多的详情。

针对XOX说与檳州政府签署备忘录一事，他表示，XOX说现阶段还跟另外2州的政府洽商相关的合作计划，並有意在未来扩展至东马一带。

蔡文杰说，XOX说在未来將会有很多计划陆续推出，除了要管理和维持该公司的业务外，也有信心让XOX说在2014財政年转亏为盈。

XOX说2014財政年次季（截至12月31日止）净利亏损缩小55%，至71万2000令吉，前年同期净亏157万2000令吉；而2014財年上半年亏损也缩减76.4%，至73万4000令吉，前年同期为净亏310万6000令吉。

XOX说　阿斯特拉將推连串大计

（吉隆坡21日讯）XOX说（XOX，0165，创业板）兼阿斯特拉（ASUPREM，7070，主板工业股）董事经理拿督蔡文杰表示，这两家公司未来將会有更多长期的计划推出。       

他在出席週五的XOX说和e-horizon公司联营合约签署仪式后，如此指出。蔡文杰是在今年初开始担任这两家公司的董事经理职位。

他也透露，XOX说在1月中与大马羽总正式签署两年合约，XOX说將协助大马羽总的发展计划，包括在国內外比赛中发掘更多的人才。

蔡文杰表示，XOX说和e-horizon公司的联营合约已经是他参与的第二项计划。

他也表示，XOX说和阿斯特拉还会有一连串的鸿图大计，但他不愿透露太多的细节。【东方网财经】

（喬治市11日訊）XOX說電訊（XOX，0165，創業板貿易股）冀在2015年中期，于高度競爭的電訊市場取得5%市場份額。

該公司總執行長黃國興稱，XOX說電訊正加強市場地位，以便與其他大型業者競爭。他指公司現有30萬名活躍用戶，全國各地有超過3000個活躍經銷商。

“我們預計明年中將有5%市占率，由Voopee新服務和各種通話及網絡配套扶持。”

黃國興在簽署2014年檳城綠色嘉年華贊助商備忘錄后如是指出。

Voopee是項新應用程序，有助提高公司用戶群，在年底從30萬增至100萬名。

“我們會在短期內于國內推出Voopee，以助提振市占率。”

他指出，Voopee用戶就算身在國外，也可撥打電話，省下雙邊國際漫遊收費。

财报审计后落差大 XOX 说电讯遭申诫

（吉隆坡18日讯）XOX说电讯（XOX，0165，创业板）因2013财年财报审计前后出现严重落差，遭大马交易所公开申诫。

根据文告，XOX说电讯的2013财年末季财报，全年净亏损达351万令吉；但在截至6月30日的年度审计账目中，却显示459万3000令吉的净利。

这其中的落差，主要是年度审计账目中，包含196万3000令吉的贸易应收账款减值，审计师在末季财报公布前，就已针对这项账款提出质疑，但该公司仍在审计账目中纳入此减值，并未提出合理解释。

马交所指出，XOX说电讯未能确保财报正确，触犯上市条例，并提醒董事部肩负维持账目准则的责任。【南洋网财经】

BURSA MALAYSIA SECURITIES PUBLICLY REPRIMANDS XOX BHD FOR BREACH OF ACE MARKET LISTING REQUIREMENTS

LISTING'S CIRCULAR NO. L/Q : 71110 OF 2014

Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (635998-W) (Bursa Malaysia Securities) has publicly reprimanded XOX Bhd (XOX or the Company) for failing to ensure that XOX’s announcement dated 30 August 2013 on the fourth quarterly report for the financial year ended (FYE) 30 June 2013 (4th QR 2013) took into account the adjustments as stated in the Company’s announcement dated 8 November 2013 (other than the adjustment in respect of the credit note from a trade creditor amounting to RM10 million which was received subsequent to the 4th QR 2013).

The failure to take into account the adjustment was in contravention of Rule 9.16(1)(a) of the Bursa Malaysia Securities ACE Market Listing Requirements (ACE LR) where a listed issuer must ensure that each announcement made is factual, clear, unambiguous, accurate, succinct and contains sufficient information to enable investors to make informed investment decisions.

The public reprimand was imposed pursuant to Rule 16.19(1) of the ACE LR after taking into consideration all facts and circumstances of the matter and upon completion of due process.

XOX is also required to review and ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of its financial reporting function and carry out a limited review on its quarterly report submissions. The limited review must be performed by the Company’s external auditors for four quarterly reports commencing no later from the quarterly report for the financial period ended 30 September 2014. XOX must ensure all its directors and relevant personnel attend a training programme on compliance with the ACE LR pertaining to financial statements.

While Bursa Malaysia Securities has not found any of XOX’s directors to have caused or permitted the breach by XOX, Bursa Malaysia Securities wishes to highlight that it is the duty of the directors to maintain appropriate standards of responsibility and accountability in ensuring compliance of the ACE LR. The Board of Directors at the material time were as follows:

Bursa Malaysia Securities views the contravention seriously and has reminded XOX and its Board of Directors of their obligation to uphold appropriate standards of responsibility and accountability to shareholders and the investing public.

BACKGROUND

XOX reported an unaudited loss after taxation and minority interest of RM3.510 million in XOX’s 4th QR 2013, compared to an audited profit after taxation and minority interest of RM4.593 million in XOX’s annual audited accounts for the FYE 30 June 2013 (AAA 2013) which was announced on 8 November 2013.

The subsequent adjustments in the AAA 2013 included the impairment of trade receivables amounting to RM1.963 million where the auditors had prior to the announcement of the 4th QR 2013 raised their concerns over the recoverability of the same and requested for adequate allowances to be made.

The impairment made subsequently in the AAA 2013 was without any reasonable explanation on the change of circumstances from the issuance of the 4th QR 2013 to the AAA 2013.

The difference of RM1.897 million between XOX’s 4th QR 2013 and AAA 2013 excluding the adjustment in respect of the credit note from a trade creditor amounting to RM10 million represented a variance of approximately 54%.
