Record buy Andy Carroll is determined to prove he can be a leading goalscorer for Liverpool and hopes his injury-affected start is forgotten.

In addition to the new signings, a clutch of youngsters continue to be involved with Dalglish's first-team squad having impressed during the second half of last season.
