Stocks to Watch - 8/24/09 - Stock Market Ideas

Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup was on fire Friday after breaking up through $4.48 and closing over the 200 day moving average on Thursday. Resistance is located at the high on Friday of $4.86 and $5.00. I will be buying any pullbacks to $4.48 and the 200 day moving average.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG failed at the $35 resistance level again Friday. I will be buying pullbacks below $30 with at $29.99. AIG stock should see a pop when $35 is finally broken to the upside.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - Waiting for SIRI stock to close above $0.75. I would like to buy any pullbacks into the low $0.60's.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Continues to surge higher but failed to close above $1.89 resistance. Love pullbacks to $1.50 for a buy

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Resistance $1.32 & $1.43 - Love pullbacks to $1. Friday was the highest close of 2009 so far....very bullish

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Fast Track FDA decision on 8/24/09

Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation is now trading solidly in the $17's.  Watching for a close above $17.93

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK)- Another stock worth watching is ABK. Resistance is located at $1.22as well as $1.64. ABK closed over all three major moving averages onFriday and has support at $1.10 & $1.00.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS)- LVS stock continues it's journey toward the November 2008 high of$16.81. All pullbacks to the 10 day moving average have been boughtheavily and offer a nice support level.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (HEB)- For a trade, I will be buying HEB when it breaks up through $1.96 andadding more when it breaks above $2. This should provide a solid gainin my opinion.

Other Biotech stocks to watch closely:  This little biotechs can pop at any time and are on my radar.  XOMALtd. (XOMA) - ACADIA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ACAD) - AriadPharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA) - Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) - AngiotechPharmaceuticals, Inc. (ANPI) - Inovio Biomedical Corporation (INO) -Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (JAZZ) - Helicos BioSciences Corporation(HLCS)

Siri Stock Chart - The following is technical analysis on SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) stock for August 24, 2009




SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) Support and Resistance Levels - 8/24/09

Resistance Levels: $0.75, $1.00

Support Levels: $0.63

Sirius XM Radio stock broke out above the April 2009 high of $0.63 last week, and you see the end result. Siri even broke above the $0.75 resistance level but failed to close above it. I would now be a buyer of pullbacks to $0.63 and the 10 day moving average. If Siri can close above $0.75, it has a good chance of retesting $1.00 days or weeks later. If SIRI does end up breaking above $1, you could see an additional flood of buyers enter the stock. I continue to be bullish of SIRI

Rentech, Inc. (RTK) Support and Resistance Levels - 8/24/09

Resistance Levels: $2.33, $2.56, $2.93

Support Levels: $2.00, $1.82

Rentech, Inc. (RTK) stock has been on fire lately due to more Jet Fuel news. I like pullbacks under $2 as a buy with a stop at $1.81. I will also be buying when RTK breaks Friday's high of $2.33 as well as Thursday's high of $2.56. RTK is the ultimate momentum stock right now so keep it on your watch lists. Any additional positive news will send RTK shares soaring again.

To protect the depositors, the FDIC entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with BBVA Compass, Birmingham, Alabama, to assume all of the deposits of Guaranty Bank, excluding those from brokers.
