在国家体理会施压下羽总才让妙珠挑大梁领军出征东运会，这次的好手不多，以妙珠的实力拿下金牌应该不成问题吧。 |

无可置疑的，妙珠夺冠的机会是很高。。。
但临场发挥和心理要素也很重要，不然希望越大失望越大！！

Young pair Razif-Chung Chiat knocking on SEA Games door

KUALA LUMPUR: Breakthrough performances in the Macau Open last week are likely to earn the back-up men's pair of Mohd Razif Abdul Latif-Khoo Chung Chiat places in the badminton team for the SEA Games.
Project 2010-12 squad chief coach Rashid Sidek said yesterday that they were waiting for approval of the duo's inclusion from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
The BAM have already finalized their squad for the Games but Rashid wants Razif-Chung Chiat as the replacements for Chan Peng Soon-Chung Hung Ping.
At the Macau Open, Razif-Chung Chiat scored their biggest career win – beating world number eight and Japan Open runners-up Alven Yulianto-Luluk Hadiyanto of Indonesia en route to reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in an international tournament.
It was also the best result produced by a player in the Project 2010-12 squad against highly ranked opponents on the international stage.
“We did not consider Razif and Khoo earlier because they were not as consistent as Chan and Chung. But we cannot discount their good performances in the Macau Open,” said Rashid.
“Earlier, we did not place high hopes on this pair. But they have come a long way.
“Khoo is a powerful player but lacking in skills while Razif is a thinking player but lacking in strength. They have now complemented each other well.”
Besides Razif-Chung Chiat, the senior pair of Gan Teik Chai-Lin Woon Fui justified their selection in the team for the SEA Games with good performances in Macau.
They came close to eliminating world champions Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia in the quarter-finals. They held match point at 20-18 in the rubber game but lost 16-21, 21-9, 21-23.
The other men in the Games squad are Yeoh Kay Bin, Kuan Beng Hong, Chan Kwong Beng and Tan Wee Kiong. |

馬男雙或易將
（及隆坡9日訊）在澳門羽球公開賽出色的表現，使到我國后備雙打組合邱俊傑與拉迪夫，有機會進入本屆呵叻東運會的參賽陣容。
2010年亞運會與2012年奧運會計劃隊總教練拉錫西迪表示，他們將等待大馬羽總及大馬奧理會對這2名球員是否參賽的決定。
大馬羽總早已確定陣容，不過拉錫認為邱俊傑與拉迪夫應該取代陳斌生與鄭翰彬。
在澳門公開賽，邱俊傑與拉迪夫擊敗世界排名第8的日本公開賽亞軍印尼的魯魯與艾文進入8強賽，這只是他們第1次參加這種國際的公開賽。
這也是2010年亞運會與2012年奧運會計劃隊里，球員最好的成績。
拉錫說：“我們不能無視邱俊傑與拉迪夫在澳門公開賽出色的表現，俊傑是個強力型球員，而拉迪夫是個智慧型的選手，但缺少力量。他們2人可以起到很好的互補作用。”
除了邱俊傑與拉迪夫，另1對東運會男雙組合顏德財與凌文輝也在澳門公開賽打進8強，他們甚至差點就將印尼的世界冠軍馬基斯與亨德拉拉下馬，可惜在決勝局中手握2個賽點卻把握不住，最終被馬基斯與亨德拉成功逆轉。
其他將參加東運會的選手是楊佳儐、關明鴻、曾光明和陳偉強。 |

看了今天星报的报导，可以肯定陈俊翔是有参加这次的东运会的，而且团体赛和个人赛都有份参加。
Chun Seang pledges to buck up
KUALA LUMPUR: Top men’s singles back-up shuttler Tan Chun Seang isfired up to haul himself back on track after receiving a sealedenvelope from chief coach Rashid Sidek.
“Coach (Rashid) gave us (all the back-up players) a letter (on Monday).It contained our results over the last one year. I looked at mine andwas disappointed with myself,” said Chun Seang after a training sessionat Gymnasium Two in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
“There has not been any good results from me for a while. Our coachasked us to ponder on why we (my team-mates and I) are in his squad. Ijust do not want to continue achieveing such mediocre results,” saidChun Seang.
Chun Seang’s form has dipped since winning two satellite titles – theVietnam International Challenge (May) and the Asian Satellite meet in(June).
With a renewed zeal now, Chun Seang aims to get back on the right trackin his preparation for his first SEA Games in Korat in December.
Chun Seang and senior Yeoh Kay Bin will play in both the individual andteam events. The other men’s singles shuttlers named for the team eventare Kuan Beng Hong and Chan Kwong Beng.
“I will take part in two tournaments – the Vietnam Open and Malaysiansatellite meet – next month. It will be a great boost for me if I canwin one of them before the SEA Games. It will definitely boost myconfidence.”
On his challenge in the SEA Games, Chun Seang said: “We will be bankingon Kay Bin to win the gold medal. I will be satisfied if I can bag atleast a bronze medal in my first Games.”
Chun Seang is setting a lower target because Indonesia, Thailand andVietnam are expected to send their top players for the biennial Games.
Indonesia will be relying on Taufik Hidayat, Sony Dwi Kuncoro and SimonSantoso while Thailand will be banking on Boonsak Ponsana. Vietnam’sNguyen Tien Minh, who has beaten some of the top players of late, willbe the darkhorse of the tournament. |
