Without prejudice, we were notified and informed of the statements that "Fatt Cheng” and “Vic Bong” had both posted on Facebook to claim that our product ("Jasmine Super Green 10kg") has weight discrepancy.
We at Jasmine Food Corporation would like to ensure consumers that the weight of our products are accurate during the production stage. Our weighing machines are certified by authorised body and we do not condone such unethical practices in altering the product weight beyond the stated weight on the packaging.
We take these claims seriously to protect our consumers from fraud. After our initial investigation, we have found out that these two complainants did not purchase the said rice directly from Jasmine Food Corporation or our authorised distribution channels, but instead they obtained the rice (with disputed weight) from a third-party reseller
We came to know about this case via Social Media, whereby there is no other complaint against the third-party reseller.
We are in the process of filing a police report to avoid future cases of "rice repackaging" of our products to safeguard our consumers. We shall update the public in due course.
We urge the public to refrain from spreading unsubstantiated information pertaining to facts of this case as the authorities conduct further investigation. We will not hesitate to take the necessary legal action against any party that has malicious intention to malign Jasmine Food Corporation's reputations.
