新闻稿

  由网友召集的“漫游天下插画展”开始启动于2008年9月12日至9月14日，早上10时到晚上8时，地点位于柔佛的新山福建会馆。在此之后将做不日的全国巡回展出。最后的展出总站将定於2009年3月，吉隆坡。

      是次的展出作品涉猎甚广；这包括商业插画，漫画，三维立体，动画作品等等，题材各出其成, 因此是一个本区域罕见的大型漫画展览会。参与人士有在籍学生，设计美术专才及相关业界人士不等。他们来自全国各地,百多名年轻专业和业余画家. 活动的主要宗旨在于推动本地的插图和漫画艺术,让国人可以从不同的角度欣赏艺术.

      一路来，本地的插画与漫画市场都受到局限发挥；究其考量，整个大马的消费群指数都是处在一个水平值，惟这不意味创作人的心思受到扼制，难再有发挥空间。

      视觉艺术是一门创作思维，把所思所想呈现在一张白纸上，除了表现画者的画功造诣外，亦透过此来表达其另一层次的精神世界。插画及漫画与纯美术的不同之处在于插画多用于商业用途，是为商品，商牌量身定制的次商品。漫画则属一门更为贴近民心的视觉作物，便宜系带，简易免了的读物。好比日本，美国，香港，欧盟等等，漫画市场不断蓬勃发展，各种漫画附属周边商品因应而生，带来的营利是为可观的。

     本地的漫画界目前正处于发芽阶段，惟面对市场的拘束，导致很多很好的创意人材，作品部不断流失。当然我们也不能否认有些创作人依然在默默耕耘着。
     
     是以有关活动除了作为鼓励及推动本地创作，也旨在促进绘画技术与分享交流来作为提升公众人士的对相关行业的认知，亦让外界来对本地的创作做重新诠译。

  PERMANENTdisability did not deter polio victim Lim Sow Seng from pursuing his dreams as an illustrator.
As a result of his illness, the 40-year-old freelance artist from Kuala Lumpur has been disabled from the tender age of three.
However, the love for art spurred him to enrol at a local art school in the Klang Valley where he graduated from in 1995.

Limsaid he was unemployed for seven years after his graduation since itwas difficult to get a permanent job due to his disability.
Despitethe setback, Lim was persistent. He sent copies of his artwork to somelocal dailies and eventually landed a job with a Chinese newspaper in2002.
After the full-time stint, he left the daily recently topursue a career as a freelance artist. To date, he had produced severalillustrated books including a comic book called Ji Long Po (chicken coop land).

The critically acclaimed work was based on his own life experiences as a budding artist struggling in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Herein Johor Baru, Lim’s masterpieces were displayed along with 39 otherartists’ work at the first-ever Japanese-styled Manga and illustratedartwork exhibition. It was organised by the local Hokkien Associationwith over 400 pieces of comic and illustrated work exhibited.
Organisingcommittee member Yap Shaw Hong, who is also an illustrator said theexhibition was a platform for illustrators to show off their skills andcreativity.

He said although theindustry was still at its infancy level, there is a huge demand forsuch artworks abroad, especially in Japan and Taiwan.
Manybudding Malaysian artists, according to Yap, has shown potential in thefield, but without a proper avenue to exhibit their work. He added thatthe exhibition got off to a good start with overwhelming response fromparticipants and visitors from various backgrounds.

幾時會來到笨珍展？
可以告訴我嗎～

笨珍的画展原定在十月初，后来因为时间的配合不当，所以会延后展出。
目前依然与笨珍福建会馆接洽，再安排适合时间。
所以请多留意这里的发表。

时间会设定于12月间至明年初。
