Nomophobia - The Mobile Phobia for the 21st Century

Nomophobia is literally 'no mobile phobia' - the fear of being without your mobile phone. Approximately 53% of people suffer with this fear, their stress levels rising if they misplace their phone, lose network signal or find the battery dead with no charger to hand. Running out of credit or having your contract cut off are also reasons for a nomophobe to panic.

These phobias afflicted 53 percent of mobile users. The study found that more men, 58 percent, admitted to feelings of anxiety compared to 48 percent of women.
