We understand that you have a concern on your HTC One handset. We are more than willing to assist you with your query.
Please be informed that network bands/signal will depend on the mobile operator and your location. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator. For possible fixes, kindly perform the troubleshooting steps listed below:
1. Perform a soft reset on the handset.
a. Go to “Settings” and then tap on “Power”. Under power, uncheck “Fast boot”.
b. Turn off the phone. Remove the back cover, battery, and the SIM card then leave it for 30 seconds.
c. Put it back in and turn it back on.
2. Once the handset boots up, observe the connection.
3. If it is still doing the same thing, perform safe mode. This will let you bypass any 3rd party application downloaded from the Google Play Store. This will let us check if the device will exhibit the same behavior. Please see below:
a. Turn the phone off and turn the phone back on after 5 seconds.
b. When the phone starts to boot up, press and hold the volume down button until entering OS.
c. Safe Mode text will appear on the lower left of the screen.
d. Once the phone is on Safe Mode, observe the connection.
e. Perform a soft reset to refresh the phone and to switch it back to normal mode.
4. To isolate the issue, remove the SIM card from your HTC One handset and insert it to a different handset. Observe the connectivity. If you are still getting the same result, contact your mobile operator for additional help.
5. You may insert a different SIM card on your HTC One handset. Once done, observe the data connectivity.
6. If the handset went well on safe mode, it is possible that there are 3rd party applications that might affect the performance of the handset. We suggest that you uninstall some 3rd party applications.
a. Go to "Settings" and then tap on "Apps"
b. Tap on "Downloaded" tab.
c. Tap on the application and then tap on "Uninstall".
7. If you are still getting the same result on safe mode, please check if there's an available update on your HTC handset. In case an update is available, please make sure that you back up your files that are saved on the handset to avoid data loss if possible. Your handset should be fully charged and connected to a stable internet connection like Wi-Fi. Please see the backup procedures attached on second email that we sent.
