多数发生意外的学生皆是独生子，而这些学生当中的父亲皆是钟灵校友。除了庄纬翔是独子外，其中一名失踪学生谢子俊也是独生子，而他的父亲则是在职医生。至于吴奕樟的父亲吴映忠则是本地商人。
很难想象家人们的心情。。 |

Dragon boat tragedy: Third victim found By TAN SIN CHOW
GEORGE TOWN: Student Goh Yi Zhang is the latest victim to be found following a dragon boat tragedy that has so far, claimed two lives.
The 17-year old’s body was found by a search party at the seafront of Tanjung City Marina, in waters off Macallum Street Ghaut.
He was found by a search party at 8am on Monday, some 1km from the site of the dragon boat crash.
A few parents rushed to identify the body when it was brought to theshore and Goh’s parents broke down upon seeing that it was their son.
The search and rescue operations involving about 100 personnel fromvarious departments, agencies and non-governmental organisations beganat 7am this morning.
On Sunday, the search party found the body of school teacher Chin Aik Siang, 28 and student Jason Ch’ng, 17.
In the incident, the vessel carrying 18 students and a teacher capsizedabout 9am when the team was training for a dragon boat competition.
They are still searching for the bodies of the remaining three students- Brendon Yeoh, Cheah Zi Jun, both 17, and Wang Yong Xiang, 16.

除了哀悼那些罹难的死者, 心里出现亿万个问号: 为何身为老师的, 并没有强制所有练习的学生穿上救生衣呢? 虽然不能肯定穿上救生衣就得救, 但是这是安全措施呀!
