Song of the Sun is a love story between a girl named Kaoru and a boy. And as is typical of love stories, there’s a big problem. Kaoru, the role Taeyeon will portray, is a girl with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a genetic disease that can allow UV Rays to cause permanent damage to the skin, among other symptoms. Thus, she is unable to go outside during the daytime to avoid the sunlight. Adding more fuel to this unfortunate tale, her love interest, a surfer boy, practically lives under the sun! The musical sounds like a fun story, and the fact that Taeyeon is the female lead just makes it that much more fantastic! |
