Iskandar Waterfront pursues RM700m development with S'pore partner
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd (IWH) is developing a RM700 million premium residential project in Danga Bay, Johor, under a joint venture (JV) with Singapore-based Skyfront Holdings Pte Ltd.
In a statement, IWH, which is controlled by Malaysian tycoon Tan Sri Lim Kang Hoo, said that the location is a prime water-front 1.4ha site within Iskandar Malaysia. The development site is also within a 5km radius from the Johor Bahru central business district, and Johor-Singapore causeway.
Under the JV which was signed yesterday, Skyfront holds a 65% equity stake in the project, while IWH owns the remaining 35%.
Skyfront director David Cheng said the planned development comprises three distinct 31, 39 and 43-storey blocks. This will come with a rooftop swimming pool on the fourth floor of each of the towers.
"We are sparing no efforts to make this a truly iconic premium residential project in Iskandar Malaysia," Cheng said.
Prices for the studio, three-bedroom and penthouse units will range between RM1,100 and RM1,300 a sq ft. The price range is deemed attractive, considering the low density of the project, according to Cheng.
He said sales will only be launched this November. Preliminary earth work for the project, which has begun, is scheduled for completion by early 2016.
