Woman smashes own Merc windscreen to protest poor service ]
BUKIT MERTAJAM: A businesswoman smashed the windscreen of her own Mercedes-Benz with a hammer to protest poor service.
...
Kang Lee Chuin, 52, was seen shedding tears after breaking the car windscreen in front of the company's sales and service centre in Bukit Tengah here to express her anger and dissatisfaction.
Kang alleged that the service centre had failed to fix a faulty battery on her Mercedes-Benz S300, which she had taken in for service on June 18 this year.
"The staff gave me differing reasons why the car had not been fixed.
"Once they told me the battery had to be sent to Germany for repair, but another said repairs were being done in Penang," she said.
Kang, who operates a seafood restaurant in Butterworth with her 61-year-old husband Oh Chwee Hoe, said this was her ninth Mercedes-Benz, worth RM630,000.
Prior to the malfunctioning battery, Kang said she had sent the car in for repair three times, due to a malfunctioning car keyhole and alarm system.
Asked what she would do with the windscreen broken, Kang said she might send it to another workshop for repair.
After smashing the windscreen, Kang called for a tow truck to move the vehicle to another location.
