Guan Eng keeps saying that Penang Govt has proven that it does not need GST to give payments to Penang people.
In their manifesto launch, he proudly claimed that the Penang Govt had made over RM400mil in payment and aid to the Penang people since 2008.
However, what he forgot to mention is the amount of state land and assets that the Penang govt had sold or traded away to fund these.
RM37 billion of state assets sold and traded away to make RM400mil in payments from 2008 to 2017?
Where does the rest go to?
- 500% increased annual state operating cost
- dodgy reports costing hundreds of millions such as the tunnel reports of RM305mil
- RM12mil for checking engineer to check expensive reports?
- incredibly expensive projects like the bicycle lanes and the RM385mil per km Pan Island Link Expressway., RM400mil for a 8 lane road of 2km?
When all the state land and assets are gone, what will future generations of Penang people rely on?
At that time the CM will probably have gone back to Melaka.
