玩弄海龟被世界自然基金会（WWF）警告事件

WWF-Malaysia has received tremendous response from concerned individuals who are disgusted by what they saw in the pictures and video currently circulating on Facebook which display irresponsible acts on a turtle carried out by Perhentian Setia Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd. The video and pictures show a distressed turtle that was brought up to the surface, manhandled, restrained and rode upon for the snorkellers' delight.

These conducts clearly contravene Section 27 of the Fisheries Act 1985 which states that 'No person shall fish for, disturb, harass, catch or take any aquatic mammal or turtle which is found beyond the jurisdiction of any State in Malaysia'. Anyone found guilty can be fined an amount not exceeding RM5000.

In view of this, WWF-Malaysia has contacted the enforcement agencies and provided them with the relevant video and pictures related to the incident for their investigation and further action. If found guilty the penalty may not amount to much, but what we are hoping for is an increased awareness among the public that snorkelling activities such as this should be completely rejected. It is disheartening to witness the tourists harassing the turtle and WWF-Malaysia needs more members of the public to help spread the message so that these incidents do not occur again.

Should the public encounter any future issues regarding marine turtles, we would encourage you to also report the matter to us, as well as to the Department of Fisheries (abkhalil@dof.gov.my, chekley@dof.gov.my) and Department of Marine Parks (fariha@nre.gov.my). Early reporting of such incidents will enable the authorities to take swift action. We would like to thank you again for your support to these ancient marine creatures.

世界自然基金会马来西亚已经收到了极大的反响关心的人对他们所看到的图片和视频在Facebook上目前流行的不负责任的行为,显示在一个海龟进行Perhentian Setia旅行和旅游Sdn有限。视频和图片显示一个陷入困境的海龟,带来了水面,粗暴地推搡、克制、骑的红海地区的喜悦。

这些行为显然违反部分27渔业法》(1985年)指出,“没有人应当鱼、打扰、骚扰、抓或采取任何水生哺乳动物和海龟是发现管辖权之外的任何国家在马来西亚的。任何被发现可以被罚款金额不超过RM5000。

鉴于此,世界自然基金会马来西亚已经联系了执法机构和为他们提供相关的视频和图片相关的事件,他们的调查和进一步的行动。如果被判有罪的惩罚可能并不多,但我们希望的是一个在公众意识增强,浮潜活动,如这应该完全拒绝了。另人沮丧的是,见证了游客骚扰乌龟和世界自然基金会马来西亚需要更多的公众帮助传播消息,以便这些事件不会再次发生。

应该公众遇到任何未来问题关于海龟,我们会鼓励你也向我们报告此事,以及对渔业部门(abkhalil@dof.gov。我,chekley@dof.gov.my)和部门的海洋公园(fariha@nre.gov.my)。 早期的报告这样的事件将使当局迅速采取行动。我们想要再次感谢你的支持对这些古代海洋生物。

海龟不是家畜，在海洋里所有的东西或者生物都有循环的，
大自然就应该回归大自然，人民要有意识如何去保护海洋资源，

若是海龟定时游来，我认为加以照顾不是坏事
不过游客那海龟来骑就过分了
我在浪中岛都没看到海龟呢我不希望触摸，只希望看到它在海底里无忧无虑的畅游
看到海洋生物心情都好点全部都是无忧无虑的
可惜就是慢慢受破坏了

每个生物都有自己的一套生存方法，我们不去打扰不去破坏就可以了
