ecommerce in Philippines and Malaysia is growing at past pace and eBay in these markets is growing upwards of 50% year on year, but here’s the deal – we believe we have barely scratched the surface!

The Merchant Acquisition team is responsible for eBay Philippines’s & Malaysia’s top strategic priority – to get new merchants / business to feature on eBay. In addition, we actively manage the end-to-end buying experience for the user, and provide business and consumer insights to the merchants.

But as mentioned above, we think this is just the beginning. Consumer preferences are evolving continuously - from the proliferation of different modes of data usage (Mobiles, other digital devices) to the content being consumed, with social media and video being consumed in ever-increasing amounts. Within eCommerce also, we are seeing innovative business models emerging. It is expected to be a fun ride

We are looking for someone who can help us accelerate our growth even further. You will have the freedom of being part of a small entrepreneurial team (from your cubicle, you can say hello to every employee in the office). And yeah, we have a fun, informal Silicon Valley work-culture



What would be the responsibilities of the candidate?



    * Prospect, consult and close local vendors / merchants to create an attractive ‘best deal’ promotion to eBay Users.
    * Identify new and creative businesses & activities to be featured, expanding the range of offers for our Users
    * Coordinate with eBay team across the region to launch promotions
    * Manage Key accounts
    * Business metrics reporting and periodic market / competition analysis



What do we expect from the candidate?



    * Graduate with merit
    * An MBA (nice to have)
    * Work Experience: 1 to 3 years [maximum]
    * Very good academic record (please include your academic percentiles in School, Undergrad and Post Grad as a part of your application)
    * A background in Distribution / Key Account Management (Telecom/Retail/Internet/ Event management / Financial Services)
    * Ability to meet project deliverables on short notice
    * A strong work ethic and desire to do whatever it takes to get the job done
    * Ramp up fast to take over the job responsibilities independently



Skills Required

    * Strong interpersonal skills
    * Ability to understand consumers
    * Ability to understand/evaluate/create Consumer Marketing Communication

Personal characteristics required



    * Internally motivated
    * Inquisitive and curious
    * Ability to make decisions independently/propensity to make calculated risks
    * A sense of humour. Ability to mix with people.
    * Should be passionate about the Internet with an understanding of technology
