Adam Chen plans to retire before he hits 40

Local artiste, boss of a snack eatery and marketing company, Adam Chen has his hands full with managing his two businesses and filming for two upcoming drama series, Your Hand In Mine and Daddy At Home.
At the press conference for Daddy At Home, Adam revealed that his previous civil engineering qualifications are completely non-related to his current businesses. One year after he entered showbiz, Adam was invited by his friend to setup a marketing company. The company is now seven years old and they plan to further branch out into the food and beverage industry.
In Daddy At Home, Adam will play the role of a lackadaisical spendthrift man who does not earn as much as he spends.
"I'm actually not like that [in real life]. I hope to earn as much as possible and I will spend as much time as I can on my businesses. I hope to make as much money in the shortest amount of time. I would like to retire a little earlier, as early as before I turn 40 years old!"
A 33-year-old Adam laughingly shared that he originally planned to retire at 35 when he was 26 years old. However, after much consideration, he decided to push the date back as he felt that it was impossible and too far-fetched.
Adam shared that he has been habouring this dream since he graduated. "I have been in showbiz since I graduated. Unlike many of my friends who have traveled the world to have fun, and not return till half a year later. Now, I hope to throw everything aside - not saying that I should be irresponsible - but to finish what I have to do, and for my business to be on track. After that, I can let go and do what I enjoy doing and travel around to have fun."
Despite his plans to have an early retirement, Adam confessed that he does not plan to forego acting for his businesses.
"I am already used to juggling between acting and running my businesses. That is also because I have extra time, and have lesser shows. On hindsight, if I have even more roles to act, I will not be doing as much business. I will make such an adjustment."
If time allows, Adam shared that he hopes to continue being in the entertainment industry while running his businesses.
