Strolling along in a swaying gait,
Swaying all the way to buy some corns,
When I met Fatso,
Let's play one-two-soum.
Strolling along in a swaying gait,
To join others to perform qigong (a type of exercise),
Performing Qigong, thinking of apoung (pancake),
And yearning to take some putu mayung (a type of Indian desert).
Strolling along in a swaying gait,
So free to play drums so joyfully,
Into the village I wandered finally,
Ketupat-making (making Malay dumpling) with Sister Siti.
Strolling along in a swaying gait,
Swaying away and not going home,
Swaying all the way to the carnival all day,
With friends merry-making throughout the night away.
A Tapestry of Baba Poetry(Penang,Malaysia)
