请问有谁能帮我解释下吗？我不是很明白要写什么？在下感激不尽。


Write a statement of the art report on "Cross-platform software: Java or alternatives?". The report should be 2000 words in length and is intened to read by the managing director who curently use C++ for development and are considering developingfor other platforms than Windows--specifically MacOSX and Linux. The company currently produces software with graphical user interfaces. Given the speculative nature of this assignment we expect your eport to have an element of subjective comment.

简单来说,你要给你老板写份报告,你公司现在的系统都是用C++写的,可是现在他打算跨平台地让自己的系统也能在MAC(苹果)和LINUX上运行. 至于系统方面,你们公司开发的系统都是有GUI的. 报告的标题就是在探讨要写跨平台软件,是要用JAVA还是其他的?

问题的最后还说,因为这是一个充满未知的报告,所以老板会期待看到你个人主观的意见. (意思应该是要你不要上网抄东西吧)
