Its OK for children to speaks Mandarin at schoool or with other dialect groups.
Try your best to keep the languaege by using it at home.
I came into contact with many families , including my next of kin , they uses Mandarin with the kids.
I think the chances that their kids would pick up Teochew later in life is very slim.

Mandarin & English are available everywhere in the world, but not Teochew.

这有点难度了我想，因为大多数年轻爸妈都不会讲潮州话了。
我爸也没跟我们用潮州话交谈，若不是和婆婆住一齐，我也不会讲潮州话了。
全世界也应该只有婆婆一人用潮州话和我交谈了
