如果Mig-29颁给俄国延长服役合约,就有可能拖到买J31
J-31/FC-31?

SHAH ALAM: With the MRCA programme under the funding cloud, there is one option that may look financially attractive. Yes, I am talking about China’s J-31. I guess everyone who reads Malaysian Defence would have seen reports that China wants to export its twin-jet stealth fighter, the J-31. The revelation of the export version – FC-31 was made during the on-going Airshow China in Zhuhai. For more on the MRCA saga read here

Defense News reported that “the J-31 export revelation occurred in the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Exhibition Hall after personnel unwrapped its 1:2 model of the aircraft Nov. 10 during a preshow tour of this week’s Airshow China in Zhuhai. The placard for the model states: “FC-31 4th Generation Multi-Purpose Medium Fighter.”

Chinese fighters are designated with a “J” for fighter and “FC” for export,” and this is the first time the J-31 has been referred to as the FC-31. During the show, a J-31 performed a demonstration flight during , as did the Russian Su-35 multirole fighter.Defense News said the J-31/FC-31, will become the first aircraft of its kind available to global customers who cannot afford the Lockheed Martin F-35. The fighter is similar in configuration to the single-engine F-35 stealth fighter.”

I am not saying that the FC-31 is on the radar for the MRCA programme. But it is likely some Malaysian businessmen are in Zhuhai trying very hard to become the local agent for AVIC. Perhaps someone already locked up that deal?
Who knows perhaps even the J-31 will take part in Lima 2015 slated for March next year! — Malaysian Defence
