Funding up to RM80,000 available for new cooperatives

BERA: The Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) is offering grants and easy loan up to RM80,000 for every new cooperative establish in the country.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said a new cooperative will automatically offered grants up to RM30,000 based on its project forwarded to the Malaysian Cooperatives Commission.
At the same time, he said the same entity would stand a chance of getting a loan of up to RM50,000 without collateral from the ministry.
"This means that any new cooperative established will already have RM80,000 funds ready for their various economic activities.
"Thus, the traditional villagers in the suburbs need to unite and establish a cooperative like those existing in Felda, schools and others," he told reporters here Sunday.
The establishment of cooperatives, he said was among the government initiatives in improving the living standard of the people. - Bernama
