Leona Lewis to perform at Bukit Bintang
Get ready to see Leona Lewis performing live at a Volkswagen event at Changkat Bukit Bintang this Saturday.
What a way to end October with a bang! British R&B star Leona Lewis is heading to our shore again, thanks to Volkswagen Group Malaysia. It has been two years since she rocked the crowd at the MTV Asia Awards 2008 at Arena of Stars, Genting. Come Saturday, the Bleeding Love singer will perform at a street party held by Volkswagen to launch their latest models, namely the Polo, Golf and Scirocco, in Malaysia.
Since winning British singing competition The X Factor in 2006, the then-21-year-old went on to have a hugely successful recording career, releasing two platinum-selling albums (Spirit in 2007 and Echo in 2009) and garnering three Grammy nominations along the way.
For her third studio album – slated for a summer 2011 release – Lewis, 25, has reportedly roped in hitmakers like Ne-Yo, Dallas Austin and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder.
Another international act that will be headlining the street celebration event is Australian electropop rock outfit The Veronicas.
Formed by twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso in 1999, the group released two albums that spawned off hits like 4Ever and Hook Me Up and ventured into fashion three years ago, by launching a self-titled clothing line.
Joining the girls at the Volkswagen event would be our homegrown talents such as Liyana Fizi, Twilight Action Girl, Arabyrd, Bittersweet and more.
What’s more, no tickets are required for the event. Just head to Changkat Bukit Bintang on Saturday (Oct 30). The event will start at 6.30pm.
