YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) transports industrial and retail goods within the United States and internationally. The Company operates four segments: YRC National Transportation, YRC Regional Transportation, YRC Logistics and YRC Truckload. The National Transportation segment transports soft, hard and petroleum products from food to chemicals to machinery by owned or leased trucks. The YRC Regional Transportation segment offers next-day local delivery and two-day delivery services throughout the United States. "YRCW reported an operating loss of $95 million for the fourth quarter of 2009, a continued sequential improvement from the third-quarter operating loss of $118 million, which included a net gain on property disposals of $11 million, following the sequential improvement reported for the second quarter, and a year-over-year improvement from the fourth quarter of 2008 operating loss of $335 million...

"YRCW recently reported improving first-quarter shipment trends for its YRC National Transportation and YRC Regional Transportation segments. Shipment volumes in the latter part of December and early January were impacted by the extensions to the Company's note exchange. Severe winter weather during January and February further hindered shipment growth and impacted YRCW's costs and productivity. However, shipment growth in March, month to date, is at levels that exceed normal seasonal patterns, as total shipments per work day for both YRC National and YRC Regional increased 10% compared to the same period in February."
