Manufacturing Applications Programmer

Job Description/Objectives:
This role calls for an experienced programmer and is responsible for creating and delivering high quality code utilizing HTML, ASP.NET, VB.NET, VBSCRIPT and Java Script.

Responsibilities include: analysis, developing new applications, interfaces, reports, create technical specifications, support and resolving production problems.

Primary Responsibilities:
Works independently and requires minimal or no supervision to do the following:

• Develops and supports manufacturing solutions in an SQL and .NET environment.
• Provides analytical leadership and technical leadership.
• Debugs program and resolves performance issues.
• Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering standards, capacity and ease of maintenance.
• Prepares status reports and maintains consistent, effective communication with supervisors and managers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education in BS/MS Computer Science, Communications, Information Technology or related discipline.
·
Experience with SQL 2000, Transact-SQL and SQL 2005.
·
Customer-centric and Service minded – ability to interact with all levels of users (end-users/executives)
·
5+ years of programming & development experience.
·
The following would be favourable: exposure to integration with Microsoft Office Applications and Microsoft Active Directory; experience in developing .Net web services; experience of integration with SAP ECC / R/3 using SAP.NET connectors; and knowledge of SAP Enterprise Portal.
·
Ability to develop technical documentation for training and user procedures.
·
Experience with the High-Tech industry is desirable.


Excellent oral English skills are essential, the ability to communicate within a global community by email and conference call, and translate operational requirements and processes into manufacturing solutions.

We are looking for someone who would be a strong team player and can work on their own initiative, often representing the applications group at senior staff meetings. Based in Penang and occasional travel will be required.
