Here to present our next award, please welcome a director who’s achieved success breaking boundaries between Asians, blacks and whites, Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua!
And an Asian Excellence Award winner, last year’s Bridge Honorary, Quentin Tarantino!
We’re here to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to a man that the LA Times proclaimed the coolest actor in the world…and quote…and this was made before he even made one movie in the states before he even spoke one single word of English. This honorary was already a legend and an icon of cool.
The man jumps off like he would in any language…comedies, romance, dramas, actions, cops, criminals, modern periods… He does it all. It doesn’t matter.
And he did it first, in America, for this man right here, Antoine Fuqua!
I know more guys who walk around in long coats because they…because they just thought dressing like that made them cool. I’m gonna tell ya. It’s kinda hard right now. But not if you are this guy!
Around the world he is known as Chow Yun Fat but here he is only one name – Chow!
