请问下怎样弄 animated images sequence?

Sorry, please allow me to write in english. I am not familar with chinese character input software.

I would like to do animated images sequence, something like animated .gif,
but I think .gif only take only up to 256colors. Any other ways or other format
which maintain good quality?

What I actually would like to do is to attach a animated images in a PDF file.
Any suggestion?
