Position: Software QA Engineer
Department: Product Development
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Reports to: Software Quality Assurance Manager, Asia
Responsible for:
To comprehensively evaluate and test MYOB software, through all testing cycles and QA activities contributing to the delivery of software products that meets established or defined quality and performance standards
Works with: Product Managers, Designers, Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts and Technical Communications Analysts (Technical writers)
Key Customers / Stakeholders: Product Managers, Designers, Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts and Technical Communications Analysts (Technical writers)
Authorisation level: N/A
Purpose: Ensure we developed quality software products for the business
Key Responsibilities: • Execution of the following QA activities for software programs in accordance to design specifications/requirements, test scripts and QA practices; and within agreed upon timeline:-
• Produce and execute test scripts and/or test outline.
• Describe and reproduce error in clear and concise manner.
• Determine relevance of defects and assess potential impact areas.
• Respond to both internal and external customers in a timely and effective manner on work related matters.
• Communicate work progress and all (work related) pertinent information in an accurate and timely manner to the team leader and/or Software QA Manager.
• Participate in initiatives that improve processes and/or procedures that contribute to performance effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Work closely with Design to provide feedback on design specifications and to resolve any issues that arise.
• Work closely with Development to provide feedback on software programs and to resolve any issues that arise.
• Work closely with Technical Communications to provide input and feedback on product documentation and to resolve any issues that arise.
• Promote and contribute to a culture that embodies MYOB’s values and facilitate dynamic team development.
• Ensure all MYOB’s Intellectual Properties (e.g. source codes, design specifications, test scripts and etc.) are secured and protected.
Professional / Tertiary Qualifications:
• Possess a Degree in software, business or accounting field.
Knowledge and Experience:
• At least 1-3 years of working experience in business software testing
• Knowledge of accounting principles is a plus.
• Possess strong leadership skills and result driven.
• Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Possess attention to detail with an emphasis on logic and efficiency.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, highly committed, independent and enthusiastic.
• Note: for testing of Chinese edition products – the ability to read and write Chinese is a must, preferable with both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
