DJ MARKET TALK: Goldman Downgrades Genting Singapore To Sell
31/07/2009 10:32 - 0231 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Goldman Sachs downgrades Genting Singapore (G13.SG) to Sell from Neutral as believes market has already priced in "very positive outcome" from gaming company's new integrated resort on Singapore's Sentosa island. Says market expectations for size of Singapore gaming market may be too high, while expectation of benign competition with Genting's casino only sharing the market with second integrated resort Marina Bay Sands may prove misguided. Believes low returns may drive up competition; "we think casino operators may be under pressure to increase returns, especially after significant project capex." But raises target price to S$0.65 from S$0.44 after raising FY10, FY11 earnings forecasts by 110%, 80%, respectively to factor in expectation Sentosa resort will open by late January/early February vs previous expectation of end-1Q10. Shares flat at S$0.845. (KIG) |
